I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY KODAK EASYSHARE 5300 PRINTER. I EMAILED KODAK SERVICE DEPT 2 TIMES AND THEY WILL RESPOND IN 24HRS,BUT I RECEIVE NO REPLY AT ALL FROM THESE PEOPLE. THE REAL FIX I BOUGHT A HP PHOTOSMART C7280 ALL IN ONE PRINTER,FAX,COPIER SCANNER AND IT IS GREAT AND I HAVE THE EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN FROM STAPLES. HP IS GREAT AND IT IS WIRELESS EASY TO USE AND GREAT COLOR! I JUNKED MY 5300. I THINK THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THESE PRINTERS AND DO NOT WANT TO REPAIR THEM.

When printing a photo, the colors are light and very poor quality. it seems to print a document in black and white ok . the model no. is 5250. I had a model 5300aio before this one and I had a constant...

This is one thing you may do.

Bring out the ink cartridge and apply a folded tissue paper to the ink nuzzle and press firmly. If the tissue comes off well blotted with ink it means you still have a good amount of ink in it and the nozzle is not blocked. If not blotted or scantily blotted, it means ink is really low or nozzle is blocked. To be very sure of this, place nuzzle in a plate/saucer with a bit water so that the nozzle is soaked. Leave for about 10 minutes. Then apply the tissue again. If still not well blotted it means ink is really low or empty. If new you should return it for a replacement. In the case of blocked nozzles, the procedure may be repeated over to get results.

Good luck and God bless!

I have a Kodak printer ESP5250. I have replaced the black ink cartridge, done a printer head alignment, and cleaned the printer heads. When I print a black and white printout I only get the outline, the...

Did you replaced the cartridge because of this issue or because it was depleted?

Since Kodak cartridges have the Print head attached to each cartridge it may be that the cartridge it malfunctioning.

To Test use a lightly damped paper towel and put the cartridge or print head where the ink comes out in top of the paper towel if ink start flowinf to the paper towel then the cartridge is fine, otherwise try to exchange that cartridge for a new one.

Yes sounds to me like one of your ink cartridge is empty. Replace and try again.

5300 printer

Some troubleshooting steps you could try include:

Open the printer.
Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
Right above where the black ink cartridge was, in the top left hand corner of the printhead, push up towards the ceiling and you should be able to push a button that releases the printhead.
Place the printhead right back into the printer and push straight back on the back wall.
You should hear a loud snap.
Replace the ink cartridges which should snap as well.
Close the printer.
After about a minute or so the printer will ask you to do a calibration.
Insert a paper and press start.
Scan the calibration sheet.
After that, in the menu, do a printhead clean.
Do one basic and one deep.
Print a demo sheet to see if anything has changed.
If the picture looks better, continue to do cleans.
In the event that it does not, the printhead will need to be replaced and since the printer is still under warranty, Kodak specialists will try to overnight you a printhead.
The whole process is short and free.
The number for Kodak AiO Support is 1 800 421 6699.

Hope this helps.
