I have beenb to quite a few jobs with this error code. What it is, is toner someitmes gets spilt between the chip on the back of the toner cart what talks to the machine. Its quite a common problem, it's weird that the E1 code has come about because of this. Perhaps you can spy down the back of the machine with a torch and just see if the contacts are clean. other than this you may be able to just reset this problem.
To reset your error code >>
Simply press this combination of numbers on your photocopier.
#, INTERRUPT, CLEAR, INTERRUPT
At this point the screen will ask you to enter a sub code.
Simply Type in "14" and press "Copy"
Your machine will restart. If this code doesnt reset your issue. Enter service mode again, and try code "16" and press "Copy"
Just for your info as well, this is the service manual meaning for your error.
