Hello I'M Vasudevan, i have D865GSA intel desktop system, yesterday i have formatted my system installed Window 7 ultimate edition, after installation all drivers are working very well without any problem, but audio not functioning, i have D865 GSL and others mother board CD such as 915, 945, 845 all intel only, installed audio driver files successfully loaded but, audio not working, it says multimedia audio controller driver not installed, once i again i tried to installed AC97 audio driver and others driver also not working after that i have formatted and installed Windows XP pro with SP2 but same problem was occurring, once again i have reformatted and installed Windows 7 i tired several times but no use, Kindly help me what should i do.

If you are sure about changing in your BIOS CD or DVD as your First boot device then there might be chances that your Drive is not doing its job, you can try with other drive if you can manage it from your friend side. Second thing is that your OS cd is not a bootable Cd or DVD. you can give a try of your OS CD in other PC.

Booting issue with intel D865GSA
First remove the hard disk and see whether you have boot error if you have boot error insert the os cd in to drive and boot from the cd if it works fine you have a problem with the hard disk to clear the hard disk problem use a desktop computer and insert the hard disk as slave in the desk top and boot the desktop with the original drive then right click my computer click mange then disk management and find the laptop hard disk the delete all the part ion in the laptop disk then switch off the desk top and insert the hard disk in the laptop and reload the OS

You can try this:
Run windows update in seach for new drivers.
Or install a soundcard in the pci slot
compatible with windows 7.

Hello there, your board does not have support for the Windows 7 operating system, what you need to do is to probably change your Windows to XP or Vista and you will be able to get the Video drivers here:

There arent any official drivers for anything above windows xp which have been released for this particular board.

Windows 7 on the other hand should install a chipset driver and get you up and going automatically with windows update.

When intel (or other manufacturers) do not have drivers for newer operating systems on their websites, it means that they have not been released yet.

With older operating systems, sometimes they stop support for them.. but on newer os's, it is in their best interest to supply them via the website.

Unfortunately, intel doesnt have em. sorry!
