1. to gain rights do the following.

The built-in Administrator account is hidden from Welcome Screen when a user account with Administrator privileges exists and enabled. In Windows XP Home Edition, you can login as built-in Administrator in Safe Mode only. For XP Professional, press CTRL + ALT + DEL twice at the Welcome Screen and input your Administrator password in the classic logon window that appears.
To have the Administrator account displayed in the Welcome Screen, try one of these methods:
Method 1: Using TweakUI Power Toy for Windows XP Download TweakUI from here: v2.00 for Windows XP | v2.10 for XP SP1 and above
Open TweakUI and click "Logon" option in the left pane. Put a checkmark against the option "Show Administrator on Welcome Screen". Click OK to close TweakUI. Logoff and see if Welcome Screen lists Administrator login. Changes are immediate and you can use the Winkey + L to switch back to Welcome Screen to see Administrator account is listed.
Use this procedure to hide/unhide any user account from the Welcome Screen. Please remember, you can still login to a hidden account using CTRL+ALT+DEL classic logon method, but cannot Fast User Switch to a hidden user account.
Method 2 - Manual registry edit

  • Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
  • Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon \ SpecialAccounts \ UserList
  • Use the File, Export option to backup the key
  • Create a new DWORD Value named Administrator
  • Double-click Administrator, and set 1 as its data
  • Exit the Registry Editor.
For Windows XP Home Edition While you can configure Windows XP Home Edition to show Administrator account in the Welcome Screen, you cannot login as Administrator in Normal mode. Visit the following link for more information:
Error Message: Unable to Log You on Because of an Account Restriction

No voice comming thru speakers headset or external speakers

There are several places to mute sound - usually bottom right there is an icon. Sometimes in the program (such as Media Player or Word or PowerPoint) or whatever program there is a way to mute. Control panel also has a place. Assuming the sound was working before, just find which place it is muted. If it was not working before there could be many problems. Is this a new install? Is there a driver installed? In control Panel look at hardware, and see if the sound hardware is yellow. If so you will need to install a driver.

Go to Control Panel and check you account / login under Users. If you are not a Administrator, you will have to log in with an admin account and make your regular account an admin.

You can also lower the User Access Control. Again in Control Panel under Action Center.

Running Windows 7 and can't use my Photosuite 7 Platinum

Unfortunately Photosuite 7 is not compatible with Windows 7. It was supported for Windows 2000 and XP.

You can upgrade to the latest Roxio product, http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/allproducts.html?rTrack=m_pro_all . I think you need the Creator 2011. (Creator 2010 is also WIndows 7 compatible with the installation of a patch from Roxio.)

If you have Windows7 32-bit (click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System for the details), you can try using the compatibility mode. Right click on the installer and select Properties. Then choose the Compatibility Tab. Select Run as Compatible with XP (I am not certain which SP option is best - I know the initial release is listed as SP1). Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program is running in the compatibility mode. This may not work (it will not work with the 64-bit version at all).

If you have the 64-bit version of the OS or if the compatibility mode fails, you need a work-around. Your option is to run a computer with an older version of Windows. This can be a virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install your Photosuite Platinum software in the XP mode (as you would if it were a stand-alone machine). It will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them. Also your printer can not be installed on both the real and virtual machines at the same time.

I hope this helps.

Hey my sound will not work on my media players? any help?

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

Setup cannot find the required setup controller file. Either there was a network error, an error reading from the CD, DVD, or other installation media, or a problem with the package you downloaded.

"Setup cannot find the required setup controller file."

Sometimes a good idea to first copy the programme from the media (DVD, USB stick, etc) to a folder on the machine that the programme is going to be installed on.

If you have Firefox as the default web browser, change it to Internet Explorer while installing Office 2007 or Office 2010.

It should all run OK with Firefox as the default after installation (not checked yet).
