Belkin N Wireless Modem-Router F5D8633au4A Logo
Posted on Sep 20, 2011

I have a problem with a Belkin Wireless N F5d8233. Selecting Dynamic allows access to the internet via a wired computer but the orange internet light is still flashing and I cannot connect via wireless. If I select PPPoE I cannot even see the modem. My ISP speifies PPPoA but this isn't an option

SOURCE: Belkin N Router does not recognise PPPoA connection type

First reset the router by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds while power is ON and then after that run again the setup , just to give you a clue which one to choose for the internet setup, if you use Cable internet select Dynamic and if you use DSL internet set it to PPPoE and provide your email and password from your DSL company...

I have a Belkin N wireless router. It's all set up but it shows as not being secured. How do I secure it? Model F5D8233-4v3

Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Router will not connect to internet. Orange light is always on. What is wrong?

is your computer wired or wireless? Secured? Start wil the ISP modem, unplug, remove battery, if applicable, unplug Belkin, check all cables and connections. Replace battery , plug in ISP modem, allow it to selftest, plug in Belkin, allow it to selftest, reboot computer. If no change contact ISP for further testing, it may be outside.

Belkin F5D8236-4 Wireless Router will not connect to pannaway dsl modem with same settings as router I am replacing. Dynamic IP address setup. Modem light continously blinks orange. No internet light.

1) With direct connect with modem, check the IP address and default gateway.
(I came across such a modem, it gave default gateway as 192.168.1.254)
I also had the doubt of configuring as a dynamic connection
But it won't work!
Contact your ISP to completely bridge the modem and configure the dsl modem as PPPoE connection with correct username and password.
Finally connect the modem to router and do a complete network power cycle, i.e.: Unplug power from router 1st, then power from modem, unplug the telephone line and now do the exact reverse process... Plug back the tel. cable, then power to modem... now WAIT for lights on modem to come back, then plug in the power to router. This will surely work.

F5D7231-4 stopped connecting to Internet via downstream router

Why did you change it from dynamic to static? My suggestion would be to put it back to dynamic and let it grab a good ip address from the gateway. The other option is to contact whoever managed the network at your apartment and see what they will charge you for a static IP address.
