A friend of my just finished moving to the new apartment, but since he
was not able to move everything to the new apartment, I was given this
Viewsonic monitor.
However, upon trying to power on the monitor, I only found out that the
monitor would not power on, I know the external power brick to the LCD
panel works, because when I plug in the plug into the power strip,
there was a spark, and the green led light is also lit when plugged in,
but the monitor would not power on, no matter how many times I press
the power button, any insights on what could be the problem with the
monitor??
P.S I wouldn't mind opening up the panel, although it would definitely
be better to at least get an idea of where to start once I get the
monitor opened up....
It also happened to me, but i tried to reconnect the connection to my cpu and the power cable of the monitor, and its ok. But after a while my monitor get black again. what i do is i turn my computer off and check again the power cable of my monitor, reconnect the monitor to my pc and i opened my cpu, check my memory card, i reinserted it. And it worked.

I had this problem with my 7570. I kept trying to wiggle the hand wheel. Took everything apart I could to get at it. Finally after many try's it moved and I was able to use a tweezers to get the tread out. A friend suggested applying a drop of oil to the bobbin case and letting it sit. She said it would desolve the thread some so you could move it.
He is probably shy and afraid to ask you out in front of your friends in case it's a set up and boys hate to be embarassed in front of others especially in front of girls. You should definitely not ignore him as he'll surely think you're not interested then. I would suggest that you either try and get him alone and chat to him, which would give him the chance to ask you out without others watching, or you ask him out. Either way keep talking to him and do not ignore him. Boys don't understand girls ignoring them. It will drive him away.
Assuming something in the computer didn't mysteriously go bad during the move, there are two possibilities. First, make sure the signal cable from the speakers is plugged in to the right place. You may have plugged it into the microphone input or line input jack by mistake. Second, be sure the speakers have power. Most speaker systems require AC power, either from a plug-in adapter or a built-in supply that needs an AC connection. (Some newer systems come with USB-powered speakers that don't need an external adapter.)
A remote possibility is that in the move, the speakers got bumped enough to disturb connections on the circuit board inside. The amplifier chip in the speaker case gets hot (especially if the volume is turned way up), and the heat can degrade solder connections, and sometimes cracks form. The move may have caused connections that were iffy to go bad. But this isn't very likely.
You'll probably find it to be a very simple missed connection. Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!
This could be the laser going or a dirty track. I suggest that you first clean the laser gently. If this doesn't work you must take the player apart and clean the track that the laser moves on along with everything around it (keeping in mind that the laser is fragile).
