The Sony VAIO VGN-C140G/B manual indicates that it has the following video card:

Processor: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 on Intel's 950G chipset

The manual, if you require it, can be found at this link: VGNC140GB Manual

You could easily update the driver by using Intel's Driver Updater: Intel Driver Utility Update Graphic

You will likely need to do the same (updating driver) for your monitor. Please respond if updating both drivers doesn't solve your request.

I am using VA1903wm LCD monitor from Viewsonic. It worked well at its non standard resolution of 1440*900 when used with Windows Vista. i had to upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise edition and this resolution...

Update your graphics card drivers to the newest ones available. That is typically caused by having the default windows driver for your graphics card. If it is a Nvidia gpu get the drivers from them, itf its an ATI/AMD get them from AMD Game. If it is neither of those Intel does some graphic cards, if its not an Intel one go to the computer manufacturers website and find your model to get drivers for it.

I install window 7 but my benq 15" lcd monitar's screen rosuation not competible. pls guide me how i increase the rosulation thnx

As for your 15" LCD BENQ Monitor, "1024 x 768" pixels is the Maximum Resolution
If you increase your screen higher than the Maximum resolution you get a black screen! because the monitor cannot support the resolution higher than "1024x768" pixels.

How to change your screen resolution Win 7-> Link

FYI
Here are typical resolutions for some popular screen sizes
19-inch screen (standard ratio): 1280 x 1024 pixels
20-inch screen (standard ratio): 1600 x 1200 pixels
22-inch screen (widescreen): 1680 x 1050 pixels
24-inch screen (widescreen): 1900 x 1200 pixels

Hope it helps.

Windows 7 will not allow me to pick 1680x1050 for the resolution. It defaults to a lower resolution with no option to take it higher.

Go to Windows 7 web site and check the equipment compatability list for your monitor.

If it is there - read the particulars

If it is not, complain to the monitor manufacturer - ask them to create a driver for this model.

I hope this helps you

Resolution 1680 x 1050 is not adjustable

Make sure your video card is capable of supporting that resolution and also make sure your video card drivers are up to date.

Widescreen 22" monitor won't stretch to fit screen

Without more details, it is really hard to provide assistance but here are some general items without knowing the model Monitor, the video card or the operating system you are using.

Generally (I can't know for sure without the LCD model) 22 inch LCDs have an optimal resolution of 1680 by 1050 pixels.

So the first thing you need to do is ensure that the video card display resolution is set to 1680 by 1050. If 1680 by 1050 is not an option in your display properties (In windows XP, right click the background, click properties, click settings tab, then slide the resolution bar to 1680 by 1050. Click OK) then try upgrading your video driver.

If that doesn't give you the 1680 by 1050 option, then your video card may need replacement with a better card.
