SOURCE: Detergent Container spring and plug

won't spray out water to wash neither with the hand attachment, nor with the floor shampooer! This was a lemon since I got it. They made me send it to Madison Wi which was costly enough but then they kept it for months, then they sent it to one of their offspring stores and I had to drive an hour and back to pick it up! This is all at my expense. I used it 2-3 times and I have the same problems again! They said is was a pump, but how many pumps can a person go through being I use this machine like 1-2 times per year??? I need to use it in my motorhome and thought the hand attachment would work, but it won't spray either! HELP.

The handle release pedal wasn't allowing the handle to lower. I took off the pedal and saw the spring load part was broken. What is this part and how to replace it? Bissell 3760-3 handle release

Order Slider Release (7.93, vacpartswarehouse) Pull off 'tank.' Remove 3 Screws for Foot Detent Lever. Pull off. Remove old slider release and spring (verify it's broke.) Replace with new. I just did this today after a year of dealing with it.

When I step on the lever to place the vacuum in cleaning position, the head will not stay on the floor. Is there a spring or something to apply pressure of the head to the floor? Can I fix this?

The weight of the brush in the front should keep it on the floor. The hinge may be full of dirt and needs to be cleaned out to ensure freedom of movement.

Automatic "shut off" not turning off

Check the filter in the tank, if a dual V model you will have a screen, if not a dual V move the foam filter down about 1/4" to help. The lid on either model needs to be securely in place, as well as locking the left and right latches. On the Dual V model, check the hose door on the front.

Spring connecting height adjustment

There should be a place easily for the wheel assy to fit back in and then if you look you should see 2 small holes in the bottom of the vacuum that it will slip into. If your looking at the vacuum straight they should be on the left side on the bottom.

Hi my bissel proheat 2 will not shoot out water

I had this problem, too. My machine is only a year old, so I was hoping it wasn't the pump already. I called the help line, and surprise - no help. They recommended a fix-it place, but the fix-it guy wouldn't help me over the phone. So I fiddled around with it and found the problem - the plug thingy underneath the main tank. The spring mechanism inside it was stuck, preventing any water from going thru it.

Lift out the main tank in the front and bring it to the sink. Feel inside the plug underneath. While holding the tank upright over the sink, push inside the plug. Water should squirt out the bottom of the plug. If it doesn't, turn the tank over, unscrew the plug, and try pushing the inside of it. It is spring-loaded like a ball-point pen. When I pushed the inside of the plug a few times, screwed it back in, and then put the tank on again, the machine worked like new. If your plug doesn't spring, maybe it needs to be cleaned out or replaced. If a new plug is needed, it probably doesn't cost as much as bringing it in for service. It's a small, simple part, and can probably be ordered online. Good luck!

Won't dispense cleaning solution

I had this same problem. There is a solution posted elsewhere on this website. Search for Hoover Floormate H3000.

The following solution is the one I tried: Remove the fluid dispensing tank and put a small dab of hot glue on the tip of the blue/greyish "plunger" piece that is located in the middle of the black rubber circle. Let the hot glue dry (this forms an extension to the plunger piece...) and replace the fluid tank.

I did this and my machine is working properly again! Whoever posted this solution was very helpful!
