Grey water is leaking from the iron when it's hot. I've depressed the steamer button for several seconds, but this doesn't seem to clear it. In fact it just produces more grey discharge. The iron is about 2 years old, and I've only ever filled it with filtered water. Any obvious solution? Many thanks.

My Rowenta dg5030 is not producing steam. The iron plate gets hot and the boiler is hot. Just when you depress the steam button, nothing comes out. There is steam in the boiler. Thank you

The small transfer water-line to the steamer section has closed up. This is due to contamination of salts, accumulated calcium or other debris. Its baked on and not easy to remove. All I can tell you is: always use filtered water or distilled water in the NEW IRON that will replace this one.

My rowenta steamer is not producing steam but tubing getting hot when I turn on steamer. Suggestions?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you

If the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber .

If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .

If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle.

If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.

If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

My shark navigator is getting hot

Yes, tear it down as far as you can and make sure there are no obstructions- take it apart as shown in the manual and run warm water through all the hoses to clear them.

They're like an artery and the more they get clogged the more heat the motor will have to generate to make suction.

Also check the beater bar and make sure there's no strings, etc. hung up under there- use a box cutter to carefully cut any tough strings and see how you do.

Chances are, that's all you need.

If the iron doesn't heat, make sure 1) power is on to the outlet, 2) check the electrical cord and 3) check the thermostat and replace if necessary. Use the VOM.

I just purchased a used EuroPro Steamer model EO8020. After about 5 minutes of use on the steam setting, the base starts making a loud rattling sound. Doesn't sound healthy to me. Can you...

It's just normal to hear that because heat inside is generating and steamer is on it's way to be ready for use. Hot air is about to be release and so rattling sound occured.
Need not to worry about it, the steamer is new and functioning normally.
Good luck

Steam is not getting through to the iron which is heating up ok and generator seems to be working

Could be a possible block of the water jackets to the steamer, ajammed valve .press down the water release nob several times to see if the block clears.Have an air pressure hose connected to the inlet while the nob is pressed.

Conair steamer leaks water and wets my clothes.

When I use mine I hang the hand held part from my closet door, while I am waiting for it to heat up. When the hose gets too much condensation, from the steam, it leaks out... This will also happen if you try to use in the motion of an iron. The hand held part needs to be at a vertical position at all time to prevent leaking.

Would you return this PS200 steamer?

If the steamer starts making a "gurgling" noise, like its running out of steam, hold the hose straight up for several seconds. It says to do this in the manual and gets the steam flowing again--works great!
