The only sign of life after switching on is the Multi-indicator light flashing red. This continues for about 1 minute before when it turns off. I have noticed sometimes 1 or more green flashes immediately before it turns off. There is no other response from the camera or any of the controls..

    Nothing happened before this happened accept the response to the controls seemed a bit slower
    Nothing shows on the LCD screen

  • s_vivian_5 Sep 19, 2011

    Followed the sequence with the battery and there was still only the flashing red light. I then connected it to my PC and the light is now flashing green continuously.
    Unfortunately it does not show up on my PC.

    I just quote the comments and answer from a previous user that have the same problem....

    ...it has the same problem. When you press the
    On/Off button, it does not do any thing just red light blinking on the
    top. After wandering with buttons without really knowing what I am
    doing, I took it to Sanyo service center. They found the ribon
    connecting the LCD to main body being damaged.

    I called technical service and this replacement cost around $75. After that the camcorder works good.

    I saw the
    ribon is very vulnerable. If you twist the camcorder just a little hard,
    that ribon may get shocked.

    Hope this helps.

Hello,

Please indicate the brand and model of your digital camera. Can you remember anything that happened with your camera before you experience the problem now? Do you see anything at all at the LCD screen?

    OK. Make sure your camcorder has charge. Then try removing the battery then replace it back after about a minute. If it still won't turn on, try connecting it to your computer and see if you can still access the files from your camcorder.

Multi indicator light flashes red then green but camera won't turn on - VPC CA8EX

The condition you described is usually a problem with power to the circuit board in Samsung cameras. I know you mentioned the battery but try the following:
1. Ensure battery is good
2. Remove the battery from the camera.
3. Let the camera sit with the battery removed
for approximately 60 minutes.
4. Clean your battery contacts on the battery and in the camera with a clean cloth, or Q-tip dampened with alcohol or contact cleaner.
5. Reinstall the battery and try to power on the camera. If your camera still doesn't work it will need to go in for service.

My epson tx700 printer dispaly ink pad at end of life and printer not start

A fix from a forum:

Procedure 1 We found this procedure to work for the Stylus Photo 1270 type printer, and understand that it also works for the 870 range and even earlier models like the Stylus Color 740. The error is indicated on these printers by all four lights on the printer flashing. Even if you press the power switch on the printer, the lights continue to flash, and the printer does not turn off!
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable, for at least 20 seconds;
  3. When you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer's power switch was 'on' - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds (i.e. then release the button);
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.
Procedure 2
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete it's processing, then turn off for a few seconds, and back on again for a newly working printer!
Procedure 3 - for 1290 and possibly 890 printers 1290 printer with green (power / data) and red (ink / paper feed) lights flashing alternately:
  1. Switch off printer with panel switch;
  2. Switch off printer at mains switch - leave off for 20+ seconds;
  3. Hold down roll feed and sheet feed buttons;
  4. Switch on at mains;
  5. Switch on at printer panel;
  6. Continue to hold down roll and sheet feed buttons until both green and red lights flash together in synchronisation, not alternately;
  7. Switch printer off and then, after a few seconds, on again at mains switch;
  8. When red and green lights are both flashing in synchronisation, release the roll and sheet feed buttons;
  9. Press and hold down the ROLL FEED button (the one at the extreme left) and keep it down until the machine finishes whirring, cleaning etc and the green light comes on steady;
  10. Release the roll feed button and all should be well.

Battery indicator?

Hi there.
Sounds like the battery could be faulty.
The diagnostic procedures from the Dell User Guide are as follows:

Total Power Failure When Using a Battery
If an AC adapter is not connected to your computer, the computer's power source
is a battery. If the battery indicator flashes amber or is a steady amber, the
battery needs to be charged. If the battery is flashing green and amber, the
battery may be defective. To troubleshoot this problem, use the following
procedure.
1. Turn off the computer and peripherals, and disconnect them from AC power.
2. Reseat each installed battery by removing it and then replacing it.
3. Turn on the computer. Does the green power indicator light up?
Allow one minute for the computer to initialize its components before checking
for signs of power.
Yes. Continue to step 4.
No. Use the AC adapter to connect your computer to AC power. If the computer
operates normally when using AC power, go to step 7. If the computer does not
boot when using the AC adapter, see the previous subsection, "Total Power
Failure When Using the AC Adapter."
4. Does the battery indicator flash amber or show a a steady amber light?
Yes. The battery needs to be charged. Go step 5.
No. Go to step 7.
5. Connect the computer to AC power, and fully charge the battery.
For instructions, see the topic titled "Charging the Battery" in the online
System User's Guide.
6. As the battery charges, does the green battery indicator light up?
Yes. Go to step 9.
No. Go to step 7.
7. Is the battery indicator flashing green and amber?
Yes. Your computer may be in a hot environment. Charging the battery in this
condition may affect the life span of the battery. Continue to step 8.
No. The problem is resolved.
8. Disconnect the computer from AC power. Is the the battery indicator still
flashing amber?
Yes. You may have a defective battery. Continue to step 9.
No. The problem is resolved.
9. Remove the battery, and press its test button. Is the uppermost indicator in
the charge gauge of the battery flashing?
Yes. You have a defective battery. Continue to step 9.
No. The problem is resolved.
10. If a spare battery is available, fully charge it, and then install it in the
computer.
11. Turn on the computer. Is the power indicator off?
Yes. Your original battery is defective.

Good luck
