If someone knows how to go into the BIOS and overclock the CPU, I doubt they would post about heat, as they should know they need a aftermarket cooler to handle overclocking.

The cooler is either dirty, has been bumped and is not making good contact with the CPU, or installed wrong, or too much thermal compound.

Then you have software that could be spiking the CPU. Open Task MGR and watch the CPU usage. Find out what the CPU is doing at idle. If you are not running software and the CPU is spiking you check to see what process is causing it and shut it down.

It can be Malware, go to F-Secure online and do a scan.

Clean all fans, reset cooler, check CPU usage, get better cooler, all these things need to be addressed.

You maybe over clocking the cpu, friend this the reason why the cpu heat in that amount of heat. Reconfigure your motherboar and set it into default configuration so that the cpu speed is back to normal...
If the problem is still exist. Buy a good new one cooler fan to minimize the heat the maintain the good speed of the processor

How to Build a Liquid Cooling System for my Computer?

IF YOU CAN BUILD A CIRCULAR AND ISOLATED PIPE COPPER THIS IS 90% WORK AND THEN YOU MUST INJECT A LIQUID LIKE OIL IN CIRCULAR PIPE AND MATCH THAT ON HEAT SINK OF CPU IF YOU CAN OUT AIR FROM PIPE CORRECTLY , OIL WILL MOVE IN PIPE SLOWLY AND COOL YOUR CPU THEN.

My shuttle hangs up when booting. Both the blue and yellow activity light remain solid and the heat sync next to the cpu seems to get very hot. I have removed all peripherals, pci card and reseated ram and...

It's possible that the CPU is overheating. If you leave it alone for a while, the CPU cools down enough to boot, but will hang shortly because the activity heats it up. When it gets too hot, it won't even start. If you removed the heat pipe/radiator at some point in the past, you were supposed to clean up the old thermal grease and apply some new one. Make sure that your room temperature stay's below the mid 70s. Using the default cooling setup, the CPU can rise in temperature to the 60s (in Celcius) with the fan going all out. The CPU's life could shorten if it operates around 70 and fail around 90. Make sure that all the vents are free from dust for better ventilation. What I did on my XPC was to use 2 fans on the radiator: a quieter one on the inside (80mm?) to push and a larger one (120mm) on the outside to pull. I used a fan adapter to accommodate the larger fan. It was measured no higher than 55oC while playing DOOM3 with fans blowing at minimum speed.

My dv6000 will power up and go back off

This model of laptop has an overheating problem. This problem affect the Nvidia GPU and cause that issue. You have two options, one cheap and one expensive.

The cheap one is that you must overheat the Nvidia GPU, in order to resolde it again. This procedure you can make it with a Heat Gun. I mean you need to extract the motherboard and apply the heat directly to the GPU 90 seconds max. Put all the pieces together again (dont forget to apply thermal paste to CPU and GPU) and when the laptop turn on again, go to the HP website and download the las Bios update to your model.
This solution give you as long time as you work with your laptop fresh. You can download the CORETEMP application, to keep watching the CPU temperture.
Cost: $ 20 Heat Gun (harbor freight), $ 7 new thermal paste (for the CPU and GPU)

The expensive one is send your computer to a authorize service center and ask for a reballing repair to your GPU. Cost may be $ 200.

If you need more details, let me know. GOOD LUCK

Hi, I have a high temperature problem. Its about 72 degrees (celsius) in idle and eg durring gameplay it jumps right to about 90 degrees and i get a high temperature warning when it hits about a 100 or...

If you are not overclocking it then it could well be a faulty temp sensor. As that is at processor level you won't be able to fix it. It also depends on what prog you are using to detect the temp.

You would be able to feel it if it were at 100deg c. That's boiling point!

Seems my toshiba satellite lap-top is over heating, how do I get to the fan to clean it? Model number: psafgu-02k001 serial; x7253530q

If your fan is running OK, then it probably doesn't need cleaning.

I have a satellite A350 and it pumps out a LOT of heat but that doesn't mean it's overheating. It's more likely your CPU usage is very high, which makes it very hot.

Turn on the CPU Meter in the Windows sidebar and close all applications. Watch the CPU usage (the larger front meter) for about 20-30 seconds. If the AVERAGE level when running no other applications is over 40% or spiking up at 90 or 100% then you are probably running too much junk in the background, or you have a virus.

Half red ligh starts blinking then shuts off

Two possibility , first the 1of the heat sinks may have lost it's thermal seal
to the chips ie G.P.U. or C.P.U. this is more common when consoles
are played vertically . Second but less common the G.P.U. temp feed
connection has become intermittent and tripping a thermal shut down.

Remedy's are

Remove heat sinks for G.P.U. and the C.P.U clean off the old heat sink
compound and replace with new ( articsilver 5 ).

If the console still over heats ( two red lights) then the G.P.U C.P.U
will need to be re-flowed back to the board that normally corrects
the problem in 90% of over heating problems.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Temperature too high! goes up to 90 C, when working intensively. Coolers not fixing the problem! No way to reduce frequency in bios lower than 3GHz.

get an ohter cpu fan, then apply thermal paste or heat paste the kind you get from radio shacks, or car sound shops, the thermal paste they use on the car amps is very good, it will bring the temp down to atleast 50

My Macbook fan keeps running

There may be high CPU usage by some program. It would be normal for the fan to run if the CPU usage is high. Check the Activity Monitor (found in utilities) to see if something odd is going on.

I had a problem where iPhoto quit working, and somehow was using 90%+ of the CPU. I could view the photos, but some operations did not work and the only way to exit was Force Quit. I had to remove and reload iPhoto.

Monitor shuts off of the computer then stays on then goes off .

Does it shut off with absolutely no warning sounds whatsoever?

Do you ever hear a faint PC beeper alarm that kinda sounds like a ambulance siren (you know... kinda like a WEEEE. ORRRRR... WEEEE... ORRRR)

My main suspect at this stage is OVERTEMP (you are overheating the CPU).

Possible Causes: Recently UPGRADED components (especially VIDEO)

Build up of dust in Case and CPU heatsink and GPU heatsink or CPU fan has failed or one or some case fans have failed.

Do you know how to check your CPU temp in BIOS? If it happens again check it out.... greater than 90 degrees is usually bad.

Check all your fans are spinning, check you don't have 'caked up' dust on your heatsinks.

If you have recently upgraded a major component that is dumping heat into you case... investigate a new case fan to extract this heat (cheapest option) or you may want to pick up an aftermarket CPU heatsink and fan (Thermalright FTW!!!!!!!)

Firefox

Solution:

i) see it depends how application(fire fox) is using CPU or processor, even though nothing is running in the background, firefox will utilize CPU(like background work with going between firefox and CPU or processor which we may not intercept......)

ii) if u are so curious about why it is i will ask you to see a process in Task Manager called "System Idle Process" which will consume about 99 or 90 %(which is a process is not required or doesnot have anything to applications but still it will 99 or 90% percent of CPU) see it has background work with CPU or processor which is not understandabl e by a common person...

iii) i u still think that this is not the right answer try to uninstall fireforx and renistall and check it,  or try some other browser like opera and check whether it is upto your expectations and continue using it and maintain some peace of mind .........

Thankin you
