Dock of the music digital system broke - Bose SoundDock Portable Digital Music System (SOUNDDKPORTW) Docking Station

Sounds like it's either a problem with the connector on the iPod or on the dock. To find our which see if it works okay on another dock - if you know anybody with one our text it on a demo model in a store. Or it could also be the plastic dock adapter - take our the adapter and try docking without the adapter.

As far as i know & from experiance of using Apple Product since many years, some times some accessories does not supports & works very well with iPhone. If your iPhone is working fine with other accessories that mean original accessories came from Apple then there is nothing wrong with iPhone, so please try it with another system or try with another 30 pin Apple original dock adapter & i hope it will work like charm.

If the cords are broken why dont you change or replace it it??

yes it can but is very time consuming also depends on model of dock

Your iPod is newer than the dock and I'm not sure why Apple does this, other than to sell more hardware, but your iPod is not compatible with your dock, so it will not allow charging. You can probably still us it for playing music, just not for charging. Sorry

They both use the same speakers, my personal opinion deems they are both the same. However the second SoundDock charges via USB pin, so it is future proof for future iPods.

I had the same problem that the ipod would onl play when I pulled it forward in the dock. Looking closely, I saw that some of the pins on the left hand side of the connector were bent forward, so I bent them back with a needle:



(ie. pushing the pins to the right, as shown here). This solved the problem for me.

if you bought it on warrenty, they you can go back and get a knew one for free. I
If not, go to a local best buy store and ask if they have just docks. bring your ipod/mp3 with you so you know what size to get.
