My problem is with a roper double wall oven not a micowave. When turning the top oven on I receive a F-5 signal and the oven does not turn on. I misplaced my manual hoping you can solve this problem or send me the manual.
Thank you,
Rita

Model:JVM1631WJ03 Serial: RH900768U How complicated to replace inside bulb. I am a female senior and greatly miss having that light. Also where to purchase that bulb?

It's pretty simple.

It's covered on page 33 of the service manual found online here.

You can pre-order bulbs by entering your full model number (JVM1631WJ03) here.

1 To replace the oven light,
first disconnect the power
at the main fuse or circuit
breaker panel or pull
the plug.

2 Remove the top grille by
taking out the 2 screws
that hold it in place.
See video here.

3 Remove the charcoal
filter (if present) to
access the light cover
(see Remove Charcoal
Filter section).

4 Remove the light cover
located near the center
of the oven that holds
the bulb. Remove the
bulb by gently turning.
Replace with the same
size and type bulb.

5 Replace the light cover
and charcoal filter
(if present).

6 Replace the grille and
screws. Connect electrical
power to the oven.

Turntable does not turn, If you lift up on the door when closing it, this was temporarily fixing it. However now it has stopped turning again. Microwave turns on and runs however.

Chances are your secondary interlock (top door switch) is bad, or its mount is loose or cracked.

See this file on safety and this file on door switch diagnosis and replacement.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Removing that will make the switches accessible.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.

Microwave oven not working

That model number looks a bit off. I'd say it's one of these:

MHE14XMB1
MHE14XMD1
MHE14XMQ1

But for a part like this, any of the above should be the same.

There are two oven cavity thermostats in this model, which essentially act as flame sensors.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

d:%5cele%5crepair%5cmicrowave%5cge_hotpoint%5cmini_manual_behind_grille_small.jpgAt our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here. (Try searching without suffix if you get no hits).

Accessing some components (especially the oven cavity thermostat) for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall and take off the outer cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Roper / Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Sharp microwave model #1872

Most likely the lower door interlock switch is bad. Cheap and pretty easy repair.

Martin Microwave Inc. sells the switches for around $5....
