Red light when you turn the copier on, a red light in the shape of a cylinder lights up. Does that mean the copier needs a new drum? The light is located next to the "three dots that form a triangle" light which I think means you need new toner.

The triangle or stack of 6 dots is the toner cartridge light. The drum light looks like a cylinder or aa battery.
If you open the right side door, then the front door you will see the 2 cartridges. The toner cartridge is on the left and should have a large green button you push down on to release and slide out. Later or when needed you can slide out the drum cartridge AFTER you remove the toner.
You might have a local source to get your toner cartridge refilled. Or just order a new one and unpack it, then slide it in and your all set.
About $50 for refill or about $100 for new.

The red light that looks like an empty cylinder on the Sharp AL 1631 Grayscale Copier panel is the "drum replacement required" indicator. The "cartridge replacement" indicator is represented by 6 dots forming a triangular shape.
The drum replacement indicator lights up when there are about 1000 copies left until its end of life. It is only when the indicator starts blinking that the drum really needs replacement.
The part number for the drum is AL-100DR.

That cylindrical thing is the drum; the drum is photosensitive, meaning it is sensitive to light much like film in a camera. If paper is jamming and is covered in toner, that means the drum is possibly losing its effective properties and it is not being cleaned properly. The drum can be replaced; contact a Xerox Rep for service.

If the light is a red light with a flash shape then the machine probably has a jam. Look for jams and once you have cleared any jams switch the machine off and then on again. It could be the toner light if there are about six red dots - in this case you need to add toner.

Hello sir; Is there have error code display on screen? if not means need periodical service,( need replace drum, cleaning blade, developer etc.).

You are hearing the spark gap mounted on the lamp ballast board. If you can hear that sound, that means everything in the lamp driver circuit is working except the lamp!

Get a new lamp.

That is the drum replacement indicator. Timing on those things can make a person insane at times.
You need to now replace the drum cartridge.
