Printer will print in very small print only? I am sure I can make it print normal size....my brother did things on my computer...

1. On the computer:
- go on Print Preview, if document looks normal go to step 2. If it's small in Preview, read on.
- make sure you are writing in a font of at least size 10
- make sure you don't have ticked "Shrink to fit", but adjust to 100%.
- size of the paper is printing preferences is set up to A4 or Letter, depending on your region
- there is a known issue with Outlook printing in small font, you need a hotfix for that

2. On the printer:
- You have to go into the menu of the printer and see if there is an option for the font, if there is increase the size of it
- In the menu, make sure the paper size is correct
- If none of these worked, you may want to reinstall the drivers of the printer
- If that does not work, you may have to put a new firmware on the printer. You can download drivers and firmware from manufacturer's website

Make sure paper size you set is correct...For example if you take the print on A4 size paper and page size you set is "Letter" the the font will be small.

Choose "Page Setup" from the file menu on your app.
on the computer. You can adjust the file size percentage there.
Also, in the printing preferences, make sure that you don't have "fit to page" selected..

I'm not sure if this will help, but are you printing from adobe? If the page is a little small on the pdf and you have Adobe set to "adjust paper size to fit document" the printer will keep trying to print to A4, which is smaller than letter.

If the printer itself is doing this when printing from any program than I'm not sure what is wrong.

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling driver? Do you have the newest version of the driver, i have the same printer and I think online a May 2008 driver is available

so it appears that what you are experiencing is not normal and you may have a leaking printer.

There is one thing you can check though, everytime you print, make sure that you are not printing at the highest quality option selectable as this almost certainly will fire out more ink than regular printing... choose a middle quality option or even draft option if you will be printing regular text.

When you are ready to print, go to the option above print, called page setup. Change the scale to about 150%, just experiment with that and it should help. There are other options in print preview that will let you change the size, but I would go with page setup. Hope that helps

Neither nor do I press any of these buttons because you can print by help of the photo assistant of windows which will give you a hand.
Simply right click the picture on your pc and click printing. The assistenat will lead you thru the settings. You only have to make sure that your mfc is the chosen as the printer AND you havte to click the printer properties afterwards. The brother printer properties will let you choose the paper size (simply click the offered sizes and have a look at the left side of the window where a small pic can be seen. Beneath the pic you will find the explanation for the choosen setting e. g. borderless/ 4x6 inch etc.) choose the right paper like glossy for photo paper. When done click OK and leave the properties. Click further through the windows assistant and choose the resolution of the picture. Click OK and machine will print the desired pic ;-)

BTW you can do some very smart thing:
print a poster of 2x2 A4 or 3x3 A4 sheets of paper. You can set this size within the printers properties.

You have to change the size within the computer software (word?). Use a 11 or 12 size and arial or times as a standard. The mfc prints the job as given by software (with settings given by user).
