I keep getting a 'no disc' or 'disc error' message when trying to look at a DVD. I tried a DVD disc cleaner, but that didn't help. Anyone else run into this or have any suggestions on what to do? the discs are from Blockbuster. Also other store bought disc read the same way. It was new at the time we got it. Have not been able to make it work. We have used it Maybe two times. The real # on it is N715-PD.

Does the disc you insert are original..If not is isn't posibbles for your dvd player to not recognize yor disc cause most of the branded dvd players like you have didn't read pirated disc..but if the disc you insert is original. Try to clean your dvd player using a dvd disc cleaner.
usually this happens when lens cannot read the the disc. Due to few reason
1 Your disk is scratched
2 Your DVD lens is covered with dust
3 You need to replace DVD lens Try another few CD/DVD to rectify whether there is any problem with dvd you are trying to play
if this error occurs on all the dvd you played then the most likely proble is with your DVD lens
either its coverd with dust use Disk cleaner if not you got to replace a new DVD lense as per model
If you've had it a long time and used it often, could be the lens is dirty or something wore down and it should be trashed since newer players have more features like usb ports.
remove the cover of the unit and try to clean the lens with a soft clean dry cotton swab or if you have a compress air cleaner, just blow it. most of the time cleaning can solved this kind of problem. good luck!
hi my father had the same problem and it turns out his dvd player wuld only play -dvds so check your dvds and see but sometimes a more expensive model will only play original dvds and not copies
good luck
I think you can see the lens of the DVD's laser. If so get some glass cleaner, and a Q-tip. Dampen one tip of the Q-tip with the glass cleaner and clean the laser lens. Use the dry end of the Q-tip to dry the lens
