I have a Sony TV and purchased a RCA remote control new from Walmart (as a replacement for a Sony remote control). The RCA worked fine for 2 months until I accidentally hit the wrong button. The little red light flashes on and off at the problem, showing I have current but no reaction at the TV. The old Sony remote control works fine (part of the buttons don't work), showing that the problem lies in the RCA remote control.

You have this problem due to the sensor problem or the ic for the remote will be damaged call to the service engineer and get the help from him.

1. Manually turn ON your Tv
2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
3. Press and release the device button you want to set up TV.
4. Release CODE SEARCH.
5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

I have to assume that the RCA is a universal remote. The blinking light indicates that the remote is sending a signal. I suspect that you have changed the internal programming code for the remote. The remote should have come with a book describing the various codes available. Hopefully you wrote down the code that was for your set. If so, then re-enter the code to reset the remote to match your set. Other wise you will have to search for the proper code.
