Hi,

Please make sure that the discs do not have scratches . Then, you can clean any lens that the jvc machine uses to read your disc. Afterwards, you can attempt to play the discs again.

If this does not work, please factory reset your device before attempting again. Otherwise, I think you might need to have the device repaired or potentially replaced.

yup you should try a disc cleaner to clean the lens of your device. it might be helpful to fix your problem. try to buy that on some eletronic store. hope that helps

90% of the time its the laser dirty, with no need to reset the device. Lucky you, its a lot cheaper to clean it up than to buy a new one, or send it to service. Ill give you an e-bay link

hi , you have to open your dvd player and clean you laser lens whit a cotton swabs and alcohol do not use peroxide. Do it slowly and be careful

It could be the lens on the laser. There are special cleaning disks for that.

The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!

I have a JVC DR-MH50 DVD/HD recorder and it will only record on DVD-R or DVD-RW not DVD+R or +RW. so check your format of disk you are trying to record on it may be as simple as that.
