Well it could be several things, not the least of things is radiated electrical noise. Seriously, I had several customers get hit with this problem. One test was to hold your hands just over the keyboard. If random characters appear, you sitting within the radius of a strong transformer.

Look around the area you are in, do you see any type of antenna nearby? If you do, rotate your lap top 90 degrees.

Also, the keyboard may be starting to fail. From your description I would suspect that the scan code for the key you pressed is not getting reported back to the CPU properly.

Replacing the keyboard on a Satellite is fairly straight forward. The replacement part from Toshiba only cost $35. and that included shipping.

To resolve this issue please disable the automatic start of HP Programs at start up. Please follow the instructions given below and verify the results.

1. Click on ‘Windows Logo’ on your desktop.
2. In SearchEdit Box type ‘msconfig’ without quotes.
3. Go to Start up tab.
4. Uncheck all the HP related items, except the entry which has the file as "HP Digital Imaging".
5. Click on Apply to apply the changes.
6. Restart the computer.

possible solution

you will need the installation cd for I believe it is windows vista and do a repair install as per the instructions , also if you have any external hard drives / usb memory sticks etc dis connect them before doing this.

sounds like you're windows is corrupted use a windows install disk get to the part where you have choice to install windows or repair it and you can then run auto repair. If possible BACK UP anything you need before this and you will need to run updates afterwards as it overwrites many newer files

please check the wireless settings for your laptop.
using your laptop,
first, go to command prompt and type services.msc
second, check WLAN if it was set to automatic. if not click stop and double click WLAN and set it to automatic before clicking start.

using desktop pc that is connected to the router
first, access the modem software of your d-link router
second, goto wirelesss settings
third, set channel to maximum level
fourth, apply settings

In the search bar of the start menu type in "services.msc" without the quote. After hitting Enter you should get the services control panel. Ensure that the print spooler service is started and set to Automatic. If it runs into an error when trying to start it should report what service it causing the problem, ensure that service is also started and set to automatic.
