I installed a DDR pc2700 into my gateway 310S, it did not respond, how do I get it to respond?

The maximum is 1 GB. Standard, it comes installed with 256 MB but you upgrade with additional 256 MB or 512 MB memory modules. The modules you are looking for are:

256 MB DDR (1 x 256 MB) SODIMM (PC2700) 2.5v SYNC
512 MB DDR (1 x 256 MB) SODIMM (PC2700) 2.5v SYNC

The ram maxes out at 2GB. There is only one memory slot, so you would need a 2GB memory stick. Hope this helps.

According to the maintenance manual only 266Mhz Ram can be added to the notebook.
This would be SDRAM.

it depends on the motherboard that u use. beep sounds means memory problem so try using 2x512 mb ram i think ur motherboard did not support 1 gb ram.

both DDR and DDR2 come in pc3200. You bought DDR2 when you needed DDR.
