The message merely notifies you that there's a problem. Enter service mode in order to get critical information on the status of various components of the washer. This mode will help you identify failed or improper operation of components and systems. The service mode does not use error codes to identify problems. Instead, the LCD screen displays a list of components or systems to be checked if a problem is detected. Once the service mode is entered, all membrane key panel buttons are disabled.

Press the POWER key to turn the washer on. If the washer is on and the HOME screen is displayed, press HELP and the main help screen is displayed. If the home screen is not displayed, press HOME on the keypanel then press HELP to display the main help screen.

Press and hold MY CYCLES and BACK simultaneously for 3 seconds: The control will display any recorded errors. If no errors have been recorded, press EXIT to return to the HOME screen. If errors have been recorded, post it back. A MORE icon will be displayed on the LCD screen if additional problems have been recorded. Press MORE to list additional errors.

Use the BACK pad on the key panel membrane to scroll back through the list. If MORE is not displayed then there are no additional errors. Make a note of the listed errors. Press EXIT, the screen prompts you to unplug the washer before servicing.

Pressing exit clears all error messages and activates the setup mode program. Disconnect power and make necessary repairs. After the problem has been identified in service mode and repairs have been made, the unit prompts you to run a setup/self diagnostic check. The self diagnostic check consists of a series of system tests to ensure the washer is operating correctly. Follow the on-screen instructions.

When all errors have been corrected and the setup/self diagnostic mode has been completed, the washer displays the following screen. Press OK to return the washer to normal operation.

What would cause a GE Harmony washer to fill too slowly? The water in cold water wash cycle literally just dribbles into the tub.

The filler hose has a wire mesh filter in it to keep the inlet water from passing particles that would keep the solenoid valve from closing completely. Shut off the water and take the hose off from both the faucet and the washer. clean the screen and check the one in the washer too.

I am finding the soap dispenser is full of water when I begin a new load of clothes. Where is it coming from? What should I do about it? I have a GE Profile Harmony.

Check that your machine is level or set according to the manual.
If it is tilted forwards the water cannot run out of the dispenser under gravity, which is how it empties.

I have a GE Harmony Profile top load washer. It is stuck on filling during the rinse cycle. It usually stays at 18 minutes for about 15-20 minutes. I usually start adding buckets of water to get it going....

when washers go into rinse cycle they use cold water so the clothes don't rinkle,i would say that you have a bad water valve located on the washer, you can try to run the wash at the beginning just with cold water,if the water comes in slow you have a bad valve, you can then run it on just hot water and see if there's a difference in how fast it fills.the strange thing is that it should pop up with an error code after 6 or 8 minutes because the washer is filling to slow, have you seen any codes come up?if it is the valve the part number is WH13X10017 and that valve is under the top console

Not enough water to wet all the clothes.

Either the water level switch has bad calibration or the water level tube has lost its air seal and needs to be refitted and air locked. If you do not know how to go about these tasks, call someone with experience. Goodluck, Macgivor

You may have a water supply problem. There is a mesh screen in the hoses where they hook to the washer. Make sure they aren't clogged up

My GE Profile top load washer won't hold water

Your drain line is too low or has a blocked air gap. Take the drain line out of the drain. Hold it up high and turn the washer on to fill. If it fills and begins agitation, repair the drain line problem.
