Elini New Yorker stopped running. could it need a battery? Where can I take it?

    I don't need an expert to tell me that! But it looks like it would be difficult to change the battery and I do not believe that just any watch shop will fix it. I need a NAME of a place that carries these watches!

Hello
Just pull out its Key Crown and push it in, for at least three times. There is an internal battery contact switch for all cronograph wathes. If the fault is with that micro switch inside it, this must solve the problem and your watch must work again. If not, the battery needs replacement.
Battery can be replaced by any experienced service technican who works with watches. The battery will alo can be bought from them. Replacing battery is a very simple hob for them, and you can get it replaced within minutes. If there is any authorised service center for Elni New Yorker, just contact them. OK.

Yes, normally if a watch stopped running it needs a new battery. Well, you can bring it to the nearest watch shop in your area.

Watch might need a superior or best quality battery that hasn't been in stock for long...

Few modern watches need a new battery every year and most in my experience will last at least a couple of years so the watch is probably faulty and it is a shame you didn't return it while it was under warranty.
A decent jeweller/horologist should be able to check this and advise you.

Sad to hear they did not sent you the manual.. Anyway, I did search the internet for it and couldn't find any manual for your watch. Is there something wrong with your watch? It is a very beautiful watch! The controls should be basic. Just pull the lever all the way up to adjust the time.

I bought it new and then a few weeks later the battery seemed to stop. I did not wear it often. I heard some watches do not use battery and function with the movement of one's arm. Is this the case for...
If the watch is a self winding type, then it generally says "automatic" on the face. These will run for about 2-3 days if they are not worn, as the self winding action only works when the user is moving).

Battery driven watches should run for at least a year before needing a replacement, so if it has stopped already, it could be self winding or manually wound type. Some self winding watches can be manually wound so you could try this to see if it starts.

My watch is 8 months old and just stopped..the screen still displays the exact time and date that it died..but because it's digital if it was the battery the screen should have gone blank?!!
Best bet is to start by replacing the battery. At 8 months it'll be due for one soon anyway and a new battery may "reboot" it so it runs again. As a battery wears out it doesn't just stop, it may still maintain the display even though it stops keeping time. Also, new "e-ink" displays require no power to maintain the display 0 only to change it.

My pulsar watch (maybe 7 years old)runs intermittently. It runs most of the time I wear it and stops when I take it off. I had it cleaned. Cleaning didn't seem to help much.
is it battery or automatic or kinetic. first have battery checked if this still does not solve prob ask repairer for movement exchange instead of service as this way you get a new engine...if its automatic a service should have worked as pulsr use seiko movements wich are very good if its kinetic it needs a new capasitor as these last about 5yrs before the need to replace or attempted recharge.

New battery installed, ran for a few hours and stopped. replaced with another new battery and still not running
Try connecting the case of the battery to the chassis of the watch (use a pair of tweezers).

This seems a common requirement for new battery installation and may apply to your watch.

Greetings! I have a Casio PAG240, and I use the 24-hour time format. When in this mode, the watch used to display the “initial zero” at the beginning of times from 0000-0900. For example, 8:30 am was displayed as “0830” on the watch, with a zero in front of the 8. In other words, FOUR digits were always displayed, no matter what time it was. But now, even though the watch IS in 24-hour time format, the early morning hours do NOT display this “initial zero”. Note that all times between 1000-2359 are properly displayed with all four digits. Is there a way to get my zero back? I miss it!
