Ensure that there is power in the socket and check that the power cable is firmly fixed to the socket. if power does not come on then switch off, remove the power cable from the socket then open the dvd player cover. plug in the power cable again and now measure if you are able to get power into the power supply unit. if power is reaching the psu then measure the output power which feeds 12v to the motherboard, if not present then concentrate on diadnosing the power supply unit as the power ic could be dead and requires replacement.

Hi -- my toshiba SD3990 model DVD player won't

Your DVD player is fu.k.d up.  These things are made so cheap now a days that it is more trouble to try to fix the thing, than going out and buying a new one.  You can try running a disc head cleaning kit through it first to see if that helps.

How do I reset my mp3 plsyer?

You need to make sure that you have at least 50MB of free space for the player to load the database. If you have at least that much space then it is likely that the firmware has gotten corruped.

First, connect your player and back up any important media items that are on it.
Next, download and run the firmware installer from the RCA website:

My Yamaha receiver stops working when using DVD plsyer

Is your BluRay connected via HDMI? and if so, are any other sources connected the same? if not, just for arguments sake, try hooling up the BluRay via component and digital coaxial or optical. Yamaha as well as all other AV receiver MFG have had big issues with HDMI processing. HDMI has been battling with the recording industry over HDCP and copyright issues on recording via HDMI. So, that's why HDMI has been so flaky. It's been thru versions 1.1,1.1a,1.2,1.2a,1.3a, and now 1.3b, which seems to work so far.... Anyway, sorry to stray off topic, however, HDMI has been a blessing and a curse for both professionals and consumers alike and has caused multiple strange issues with all products that use the technology. Hope this helps. Post a comment if you need further help. I've got lots of contacts for crazy issues!

DVD player won't play DVD, says "load"

The unit can recognize that a disc has been loaded but can not read the contents. This can be as simple as a dirty lens or more drastic like failing optics. Try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to correct the problem and a music CD will play OK, then the optics are failing. DVDs require more laser power to read than a music CD.
