Cannot get how to videos to play on youtube.Would this be due to the fact that we are on the old dial-up system with my server or perhaps the speed is not enough? Or maybe i am just missing steps in the playing? Please help if you can.THANKS

To watch Youtube videos, you must have a good internet connection. Slow connection greatly can affect streaming specially if you are trying to watch high-quality videos.

If you think you have a good connection, consider installing the latest version of Flash player here:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/
http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/

Restart the browser, and try again.

Hope it helps,

Computer buffering

Most likely is your Internet connection.

Could you post more details?

Just from the description, your Internet connection to YouTube servers may be slow, which can be a) your actual Internet connection speed or b) YouTube servers, which COULD be bogged down by activity (slightly unlikely, but it could happen).

The problem will go away either on its own or if you get a faster Internet speed service. You are most definitely going to experience this if you are trying to access content using dial-up, but you may also experience this with higher speeds and trying to access HD content (which is much more data to receive).

Why does YouTube keep on stopping when playing?

Any delay or lack of bandwidth between your computer and the YouTube server as well as a high server load can cause a video to pause. Your ability to play videos is also limited by your connection speed.

You can reduce your playback quality in order to get fewer stops and starts but, you will get poorer video.

Can anyone tell me why the videos i watch on youtube keep stopping and going and how i can fix that ?

Usually it's due to internet traffic and download speeds of your connection. Pause the video and let the entire video download before watching.

When I try to play a video/song on youtube it will play two three words then loads more then play a few seconds and stop and load more. Unable to play entire video/song. Using windows vista. Juno dial-up....

The reasons may be that:
1. The internet connect speed is so poor that the YouTube video buffering speed is slow.
2. You need to upgrade the flash plyer. go Adobe.com

Or, I suggest you can download the YouTube videos to your computer with Aneesoft free YouTube downloader and than watching it.

Thanks for your interest in fixya please do be considerate to leave positive feedback and ratings for me if you feel my answer have helped you. Thank you.

Why does youtube stop playing and then starts again while a circular motion appears in the middle of the screen?

It is very simple youtube uses a streaming system based in flash, this means that the youtube player calls a file of an indetermined size stored in a server, did you ever noticed that in the playing bar below the video there is a red bar that fills the bar progresively this is the bar that shows the amount of video downoading of the file in the server, when the size of the file is to high it takes more time for the video player to download it, what happens is that the playing time is shorter than the download time so the player reaches the amount of video played faster than the video downloaded and it stops until the download progress a littlle bit more to continue playing the video, so if the video has a smaller file size the less the player stops, but small size videos could mean a down of quality in the image of the video depending also in the length of the video and in your internet connection speed.

Good luck

Hi, I have an Acer Intel Core2 Quad Q8200

That would ppear to be a matter if internet connection speed as it is playing faster than it can stream the video. You could pause the play back for a min or so to give the buffer time to load or consider upgrading your connection to a faster speed.

It could also be caused by having P2P running in the background as this eats up bandwidth as well if so close it down whils streaming video to give more bandwidth.

Whenever I try to play clips ( ie Youtube, etc) they keep stopping after a few seconds, they stop for maybe 20 seconds and they play for four seconds and stop and so on

This is generally a symptom of a download problem. Check your netowrk connections and verify that they are solid. The video is bufferred down to your local machine and displayed. The display is utilizing the downloaded data faster than you can load additional packets from the net. If you can not find the delay, pause the video for a little while. It will continue to load. That should allow the video to play to completion without delay. If not, then your graphics card may need an upgrade. If the card itself does not have sufficient on-board memory, the information needs to be refreshed from main computer memory which will slow things down.

Check those things first and update this with your results. There are other possibilities as well.

Thanks,
Dan

While watching youtube videos the videos pause for few seconds and then starts automatically after 5-7seconds, & it goes on when the videos pauses there is a small circle revolving

This is not your system problem. Your connection speed is slow then system. After playing about 5 seconds video the remaining video is in progress for download from server, this process is technically called buffering. If you can not wait for buffering then you will need a fast connection. This will solve your problem.

Hope this will helpful for you.

Thanks for using fix ya.
