Cant operate x1100 with new vista windows - Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies

First thing you need to do is uninstall the current software and printer.

Then go to: X1100 Series Driver

Select your operating system...Vista...from the drop down menu.

The next page has the link to download the driver. (It should be cjrX1100EN.exe. Click on "Download Now".

When you begin the download and the download window appears, select "Save" and direct the download to save to your desktop.

After the download is complete, close all the windows, or other programs.

Make sure your printer is ON but also that the USB cable is DISCONNECTED. Double-click the file on your desktop that you downloaded. When prompted by the software, connect your USB cable.

That should do it. If you run into any problems, just comment back.

Drivers for Lexmark X1100 in vista should be built in, in any case I will try to find a download.

Hi!

I took a look for that printer, and you cant make it work coz that 1100 isent compabile with vista. There are some models in that 1100 serie, but the 1100 isent one of them. Here is the ones that works with vista:
X1110, X1130, X1140, X1150, X1155, X1160, X1170, X1180, X1185, X1190, X1195
As you can see yours isent one of them, thats what they say on lexmarks site to.

Sorry M8, your printer is only for those OS: Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP

Go to the following link and enter in the model of the printer, then select Vista for the operating system. I just installed vista drivers for an X1100 series printer last weekend. Worked GREAT!

A lot of the time different printer models will have the same drivers, your best bet is to find a compatable Vista driver.. reinstall driver via windows update through Device manager.

you'll need the drivers for vista, if they are available

check your model number here, and see if there's a vista driver set
