Hello there and welcome to Fixya
This is a fairly common problem with self cleaning ovens
The
problem normally is that the user has interrupted the clean cycle and
the door is locked by default or the door lock assy has failed all
together .
Now here is the thing these ovens have a built in memory
module that stores a number of commands that the user has input in it
like self clean or broil ect.ect so what you will have to do is to
clear the memory and it is done like this.
First unplug the oven and do not touch it leave it sit for a minimum of 1 hour this will reset the memory module
Now
only after the hour is up plug in the oven and you may hear a beep ora
click if so great wait a few min then you can press the cancel button
then try to open the door again.
Hello Steven Krenz - Was the unit in self-clean mode? Try pressing and holding the "Clear/Off" button to stop any operation of the EOC. Do this at the same time while pushing and hold the light switch to the left of the door lock. Usually this will trick the oven into unlocking the door. If it is ineffective, try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and redo the steps. If door continues to maintain locked while open, the unit may possibly have a faulty door latch or a communication problem with the EOC. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
Hi
F9 is a door lock error and to solve this issue you can hold
the light switch for 15 seconds, this will reset the control. If it won't work
then hold the light switch in and set the unit to clean and after a minute
press cancel to cancel the clean cycle. If still it won't work then the door
lock assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post
back for further assistance.
