My Samsung HL-T5075S TV shuts off after being on for awhile and will not turn back on,also if you turn it off you have to wait awhile before turning it back on, I have tried unplugging it for up to one hour, this helps for a short time. Sometimes it will stay on for hours ,other times it will only stay on for a few minutes.

Hi,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the tv there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.
This will help.

How do I factory reset my Samsung TV model number t5075s without a remote

Sorry Angela Thurner,

No reset is going to help...
You MOST LIKELY HAVE A POWER-BOARD failure.

SAMSUNG would like you to believe their
sets are SACRED INSIDE... Were that true...
They would have spent a FEW MORE PENNIES on those
(my opinion) cheap-cheesy GUM-WRAPPER capacitors
they regularly used...

((No idea if the SAMSUNG "settlement" had any effect))...

Rest assured SAMSUNG is not alone in their
power issues... MOST vendors have similar issues
(again... my opinion).

If you have the TIME, Care & inclination...
I think any careful person can get in/out safely...
Always with POWER OFF.

I have a Samsung DLP Model number HL-T5075S that is giving me problems. Works for about 2 or 3 minutes then dies. I get the 3 LEDs that mean "Lamp" however the lamp has been replaced with Model #...

Hi,Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. The ballast is the most common failure on Samsung sets it has a sensor that detects if it's not lighting up the lamp or if the lamp is not responding.Pay attention to any sounds your tv makes. Here's the link to replace the ballast :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php Have a blessed one!

My TV turns off. As soon as I turn it back on it

try the lamp door switch in the back of the TV, door is held on by 1 screw, after door is open there is a blue switch by the slide that protects the lamp. push the switch down and up a couple of times then put cover back on and see if tv stays on. this was my problem with this exact tv.

TV keeps turning off...

We have a Samsung HL-S6187W that's only a year and a half old that was having the same problem.... it would shut off for no reason... sometimes after being on for awhile but then sometimes it would shut off w/in a minute of it being on. Called Samsung support and they said to unplug and "reset" the T.V. and if that didn't happen they'd send a tech out (at a fairly steep service charge) and they would troubleshoot it. Talked to my audio/video guy that installed it all and he said it was probably the lamp that needed to be replaced (obviously for labor and parts charge). We really don't use the T.V. that much (have another flat screen 20' away in the kitchen we watch more often) so I seriously doubted it was the lamp.... plus it couldn't be turning off from over heating because sometimes it would turn off RIGHT after turning the set on.

After reading several suggestions here on Fixya I incorporated a few options to try and fix it myself and I am ecstatic to report that it's been over a month and a half, and we've watched it alot, and it's completely FIXED and doesn't turn off anymore --- and it didn't cost me a cent to fix!!! WOW!! Thanks to all the suggestions... this is a great website!!

Here's what I did:
1. Took off back lamp cover and vacuumed out the entire area (there wasn't ANY dust... but thought it couldn't hurt to clean it out anyway).
2. I disconnected the temperature sensor and cleaned off the contacts and plugged back in firmly.. (I think this is what the real solution was),
3. I then moved the "Auto Shut Off Switch" back and forth a little then made sure it was in the correct position when I replaced the lamp door cover (it's not hard to make sure it's positioned correctly).

Voila!! It's all fixed! This site has great pictures of the correct way to position the Auto Shut Off Switch and of the temp. sensor if you need it.
