It's most likely the battery isn't producing enough voltage, though it may have been adequate for your other guitar.
However, you should discuss the issue asap with your dealer and/or Taylor support.

Yes! take it back to the place of purchase, this is a manufacture issue. By the description it is a motherboard problem and should still be under warranty.
honestly you've done everything correctly that i could think of. one last thing you could try to root out a problem with the os. is boot the computer from hirens boot disk and load the portable Windows. see if the battery is detected in hirens. then youll know if its a Windows problem or not.
personally i feel the board is the issue but it doesn't hurt to check the complete os.
(I "ASSUME" you charged it, or tried to). HOW OLD is your MP3 player?? If it's pushing 2yrs old, or played/used on a fairly regular/daily basis, .....YOU MAY JUST NEED A NEW BATTERY.
Carefully peel up the UPC code strip on back of player. (There is a tiny screw underneath it) Carefully remove screw. (The snap notches are 'L' shaped inside the edges of the case). Gently slide/pry open the backside of the case, taking care NOT to break the snap notches. Open case, REMOVE BATTERY. FIND/MATCH BATTERY TYPE. (look in WATCH batteries). Place the new battery in player. Close case, restart/turn on player.
I am assuming you are reading the battery charge correctly. If so you need a new rechargable battery. Special battery so it is a little expensive. Make sure the person knows it is a "rechargable battery" you want. A regular battery will not work properly or recharge.
There is a short circuit on your motherboard. This is why the power
adapter switched off (thermal cutout) and resets after you remove the
adapter from the wall power outlet. You need a new motherboard.
