Question about Televison & Video

No sound from TV when connecting Philips HTS3530 Home Cinema to Sony 32CX520 TV, but there is sound from radio and satellite box. Connection through scart or/and red, white and yellow plugs. There is no optical audio on the Philips Home Cinema device, and the HDMI seems to be useless as the HDMI (OUT) socket is a bit blocked by a screw, so the HDMI plug doesn't completely enter.

I am buying Philips HTS3530 home cinema, and I saw that there is some difficulties connecting it to Tv (40' Samsung smart Tv) Is there any cable which u need buy (i have HDMI).

Ok, here's the deal. You can have sound being putout from hdmi coming from one of those sharp units, but it just depends on how you are connected. If you are using a digital audio output, from the tv, it wont push out the sound the way that it should. You will have to downgrade to using audio composite cables to connect to your external speaker system from the audio ouputs, not the digital audio outputs. Its not designed to push out sound from an hdmi cable. The BEST way to have this setup is to run your sound directly from the cinema to the external audio source(leaving the hdmi cable in the tv).

hdmi is for picture only.

Hi,here is my simple solution...
to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your samsung home cinema receiver,
** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on samsung home cinema RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection..
.
There you go..Your TV sound is on the samsung home cinema Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (TV tuner, satellite , Xbox ..etc.) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

There are two things that I can suggest.
1-Test your optical cables to make sure they a good on a known working source because they are very fragile and break very easily.
2-Try to eliminate the use of optical output from tv to receiver. There may be a problem from the HDMI to optical conversion at the tv. Instead, try running the audio directly from the source to the receiver, and let the tv deal with video input only.

you have two choices. a newer connection you must have on both devices is a optical connection. if you have this buy a digital optic cable.

if you dont have this connection. look for a red and white connection on both devices this is just a simple audio lead .
To recieve the sound through the speakers after you have installed the leads make sure the home cinema function is set to "tv"

No sound through the Panasonic cinema surround sound on TV

Had a similar problem mate. I solved it by connecting the tv to the PT460 system with a scart lead. You then have to have the AV channel selected on the PT460 system to listen to the tv. You will always have to have the AV channel on the PT460 selected to listen to any sound transmitted through the tv - be it playstation/xbox or any other device that you may connect in the future with HDMI leads or otherwise. No picture on TV through Sky, Home Cinema is on but have sound.

do have sound and picture at same time you will need a fibre optical cable, you connect that from your cinema system to your tv. then you need to set your cinema system to digital input or fibre optic or check by pressing aux on your remote and see which is the right one. i am not familier with panasonic as i have samasung.

Hi,

To get sound from any TV (including Philips) to an amplifier or a home cinema system, the TV should have a LINE OUT RCA pair. Thereafter, it is a simple case of connecting said Line OUt to one of the INPUTs of the cinema system.

Often (but not all), Cinema Systems have their own TV tuner and would provide a video out that could be connected to the Video IN of the TV.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

We have recently just bought a samsung htx250r home cinema. we have a 50 inch samsung plasma, the dvd player sound works using the hdmi cable but the surround sound does not work when we are watching...

Really this is a question of sources. The reason your able to hear surround sound when connected to your DVD player is that is what is providing your audio and video source. When your watching television it would depend on how your getting your broadcasts. If you are either receiving an over-the-air broadcast or cable directly to your set, your television becomes the source. As your television is providing the signal, you would need it to loop back to your receiver to provide that surround sound.

Now for the good news, if you have a cable or satellite box these should have outputs to connect to your receiver to provide the audio source.

Also keep in mind not all broadcasts provide a version of surround sound. Most newer home theater systems will replicate surround sound artificially.

If you have a later Philips home cinema model: HTS3100, 3300, 3500, 3154, 3357, 6510 & others, the sound from the TV will go through the existing scart connection.

Just select TV on the home cinema remote control.

For any other models, use a scart - twin phono lead (red & white), from the TV to one of the inputs into the home cinema.

Scarts 1 & 2 on the TV will have different results. Try both.
