My citizen skyhawk watch which is under one year old has stopped working, there is nothing on the lcd screens.

This watch is a "echo-drive" I presume. Do you wear the watch every day? If not , is it put away in the dark? If it is , this watch needs sunlight for it to stay charged. Try putting it on a window sill for 24 hours and see what happens. If this dosn't help, then you need the capacitor changed. You said you have had this watch for about a year, Citizen has a 5 year warrenty, so if it still dosn't work get ahold of them and they should be able to help you. If you don't want to wait to have it fixed you can go to any REPUTABLE watch repair shop (NOT a jeweler) and they shoul be able to help you. The price will probibly be between 45-65 dollars. The watch has a "battery" and claims that it does not need to be replaced but perhaps it needs re-charging. If you go to their web site (click on the link below), there is a full explanation of re-charging requirements :-

The watch is off....nothing on any of the screens and the hands are not working..so its dead! how do i get it to turn back on?
I am guessing the battery went dead. Put the watch under a lamp about 10 inches from the bulb and leave it for 12 to 24 hours. This will recharge the cell. Then you will have to go through the setting procedure from the start. Either refer to the CD, your owners manuel or the Citizen website. You will need to do the "reset" procedure most likely. This ordinarily is not needed but in your case most likely will be needed as a result of your battery going completely dead.

CITIZEN ECO-DRIVE SKYHAWK WATCH not working
If this watch is several year old, it could be that the power cell is defective, and won't hold a charge. I have been also told by a Citizen Tech, that they will sometimes "hangup" or lock up, and may just need a quick jolt. This doesn't happen often, but Citizen has the equipment to test and supply this jolt to sort of kick start the movement again. They would also replace the battery while it was open. You can sometimes place it into direct sunlight for 15-30 minutes, but no longer...unless you want to melt the insides...lol.

Most Geniune Citizens have a five year warranty. Keep that mind too. Thanks.

My watch has stopped
Hi.

Go to a shop and ask to replace the battery.
Even if the battery can be replaced at home, using tweezers to remove the back plate, replacement must be done by a technician at the shop. If you have not done this operation before, it is very easy to mount the seal incorrectly, compromizing the watch integrity.

It is easier to just answer the question (escapement): Here is the solution:

Citizen will do the software update for free, but you will need to send it in. Call 1-800-321-1023 ext. 4345. I spoke with Claudia. They will send you an e-mail that your respond to with this info: Name, address, phone, e-mail. They will then send you a pre-paid airbill to send in your watch and return it to you when updated. It is free and will take less than 10 days.

Hi. Just purchased a Citizen Eco-Drive JR3 in black. Placed it under a lamp overnight, but the solar charge bars still haven't appeared. Is this normal? Thanks!
Try placing it in sunlight or daylight for a day and see if that makes a difference. If it is more than a 4 years only the capacitor/battery may be old and needs to be replaced. A low wattage lamp may be slow at recharging the cell.
