I have a Vizio Model XVT3D554SV TV that uses a bluetooth technology remote. I have been unable to get the MX 500 to learn from the TV remote and cannot find the code for the TV. I would like to use the MX 500 to operate the TV.

2. Auto Scan With Three-Digit Number
You can also program your remote control by sending out a
series of Power Off commands for different brands stored
in the library by using the following steps. This is similar
to the first method, except it is easier to move through all
of the device codes for your device and make note of each
one that turns your device OFF.
1. Manually turn on the device you plan to operate.
2. Go to the SETUP mode by pressing both the MAIN and
ENT buttons simultaneously for three seconds.
3. Press the P-PRO button next to the LCD screen.

17
4. Programming the MX-500TMto Control Your Components
4. The remote will be flashing "SELECT BUTTON".
Press the device you wish to program. (For example, to
program TV, press the TV button.)
5. The remote will be flashing "FROM TABLE". Select the
device from which the scanned code will be selected.
(Important: If you have already relabeled your device
keys, your LCD screen will not look like the illustration
above. Select the appropriate LCD button for the "FROM
TABLE" using the labels as shown in the illustration on
page 11 of this manual. For example, if you have relabeled
AUX as LIGHTS, you would still push the bottom-left
button to access the AUX Code Table.
6. Point the remote control toward the component and
alternately press the UP (or DOWN ) button on the LCD
and the Power button. If the right code number is sent, the
component will turn off right after the code number is
transmitted.
(Please press the UP (or DOWN ) button within 20 seconds
of beginning programming, otherwise the remote will
revert to the SETUP menu, and then after a period of time,
it will go back to the MAIN device page.)
18
7. Confirm that it is the right code by pressing the Power
button. After you have confirmed that the right code is
entered, save the code by pressing the SAVE button on the
LCD.
8. Confirm that you entered the right code number that
matches your component by pressing other functional
buttons. If any of the buttons do not operate, as they
should, please repeat from Step 1.
9. Continue to program other components by repeating
from step 1 above.
10. You can press EXIT at any time if you do not wish to
proceed.
11. Exit from Preprogrammed mode by pressing the MAIN
button and then exit from the SETUP mode by pressing the
MAIN button once again.

A Vizio TV with no Picture and only Vizio light on front showing in Orange.... Model XVT3D554SV

Hi Tom...0980-0140-0140 is the wi-fi card for your model TV but I'm a little confused at the repair they did 2 years ago. You said the set was dead other than the vizio standby light was orange if I understand you correctly. Basically, the TV was in the standby mode, the main board was waiting for a signal from the remote IR sensor or power on button to come out of sleep mode and turn the set on. What I don't understand is how a wi-fi board replacement would repair the TV....The set can be run with this board unhooked and should power up and work ok other than you wouldn't be able to connect to the internet. Vizio is kind of a different breed of TV, they make good sets and are a good quality TV but they do things a bit different than most brands so it's possible I suppose the wi-fi card could make the set not come on. An example of them doing things a bit different is a bad IR card can cause the sound not to work, I have no idea why this is, Vizio support either doesn't know or won't tell me and getting a schematic on Vizio TV's is almost impossible to get other than some older sets. Ok...soooo...where I think your issue is at would lean towards either the power supply board or main board. The model set you have has some issues with the EEPROM on the main board having corrupt data and that will make the set stay in the standby mode, there is an easy way to test this with a voltage reading on the PS/ON pin on the power board to find if it's a power board or main isssue. You said they're giving you mixed messages on repairing it, what are they telling you the problem is with the set?

I have my tv connected to my laptop how do i use my remote control as a mouse and keyboard

Unfortunately, your QWERTY keyboard remote is only for input to the TV. You cannot use it as a computer keyboard and mouse.

You can use the Logitech MX Air Mouse and a Bluetooth keyboard if you want a quality solution. I have a Gyration Media Center Remote which I love but they don't make it anymore. You can search eBay for that if you're interested. You can also try this but I wouldn't have high expectations.

Menu button stopped responding

If only one button does not work at all or all do not work the unit may have a lock out feature that would be explained in the owners manual.

No channels in Master List message on Vizio xvt3d554sv with Dish Network Satellite...what to do?

I had this same problem. My TV had sound and the lights were on but no picture. The screen said "No Channels in Master List."Here is how I fixed it:1) I made sure that my Dish Remote was on the TV mode (when pressing down buttons, the TV button would light up).2) Once that was confirmed, I pressed 03 to ensure I was on Channel 3.3) (this was the hardest part!) I found the remote that came with the TV. I never use it so it was hard to find...4) I pressed the Input button and selected the correct Satellite option. On my TV, that option is: "HDMI-1 Satellite"5) The picture was restored!

Tv codes for universal remote

If you have a learning universal remote, such as the MX-500, just put the remote in learning mode, press the button on the universal remote you want to program then press the appropriate button on the other remote. Otherwise, we'll need to know also what remote control you have. They are not all alike.

The MX-500 has a learning mode that you can use. Press MAIN and ENT together for 3 seconds, then press the P-PRO button. Select the device then button you wish to program on your remote and then with both remotes facing each other (IR ports must be able to communicate) press the button on your other remote.
