2002 Chevrolet Malibu Logo

I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu. The dashboard lights are off including the radio. However when I jiggle the dimmer switch, the dash lights would come on. Now whenever the sensor puts my regular lights on, jiggling the dimmer switch doesn't work. I did notice several days ago that bumps in the road affected the lights but now that isn't working. Also no one seems to want to work on the problem unless it is an instrument cluster or something big, I guess money is involved. I hate to go to a dealer for this. Is there something I can do with limited mechanical skills and tools?

I am not sure if I can help but have you tryed replaceing the dimmer switch or checking the connection to the dimmer you should be able to bypass the dimmer and the dash lights should come on bright also are you talking about the dimmer on the dash or the headlight dimmer I am thinking you mean the dimmer on the dash

98 chevy malibu dash lights quit working not the fuses or the bulbs

If u installed a new radio that's your problem. The back of the radio harness that connects to the vehicles wire harness, look for the two orange wires, one is orange with a white stripe. They should read dimmer in small font on the wire. Simply connect the wires completing the circuit.

The interior lights of my 99 chevy malibu do not work. Can this be a fuse problem?

yes it can be a fuse, most cars have a dimmer for dash/interior lights if fuse is ok it may be the dimmer switch.

'97 Malibu, dash lights don't work

Check your fuses. The dash lights are on a different fuse. Also check dimmer switch. If its not one, then it is the other. Try working dimmer switch quickly back and forth( with the lights on when it's dark so you can see if they come on).

Chevy 2002 malibu radio wont turn off

First of all, make sure your iginition switch is completely in the off position or your radio will stay on. I had problems with this and all I had to do was make sure my shifter was locked in the park position (try jiggling it around in park until it clicks). If that doesn't help, the fuse for the radio is located on the passenger side of the vehicle on the side of the dashboard- you have to open your door to access it.
