Clothes dryer overheating?

use your dryer on air dry only (not heat dry) run about 2 min. check if your dryer is hot, that is heating element is short to ground and if your dryer is cold, check your dryer air venting system. (open the door if you see lint on door panel, it is a sing of bad air flow, it is dangerous to fire) hope its help.

How do you dry on this machine? if you dry on the green, does it completely dry?

The automatic preheat and drying cycle kicks in as the final wash spin is under- way. The system employs a condenser dryer in which the hot air used to dry the clothes is channeled into a drum, instead of being released into the great outdoors via a dry vent hose. Cold water is drawn into the drum at the same time. The two mix, and the result is a condensing process.

The chlothes should be dry. there may be a damp feeling to them but otherwise dry. If your machine is not drying then the element could be going bad, or a thermal cutoff. those would be the easyiest fixes.

The BIG drawback is drying. It takes about 90 minutes to dry a load, and the clothes come out very wrinkled. Because the drum is so small, the clothes don't 'toss' in heated air and don't fluff at all. Clothes also come out stiffer than a regular dryer.

After a drying cycle the clothes are still wet. We set it on the normal cycle and switch it to Extra dry so it is running for about 59 minutes. After the dryer stops the clothes are still very wet. It...

sounds like an air flow problem meaning the dryer is not exhausting the hot air. Best way to check is to disconnect exhaust tubing from dryer and run a cycle. If the clothes dry normally the vent to the outside is plugged. Hope this helps

How Hot Should The Air Comming Out Of My Dryer Vent Tube Be ? I Put A Termastate In Front Of It, And It got Up To 90 Degrees. Is This Too Cold, To Hot, Or Normal ? My Towels Seem To Take A Long Time To...

It depends on how long the vent run is. If you were to measure at the dryer outlet it would read over two hundred degrees. If the air flow is weak, it menas that your vent is restricted and thus causing long dry times.

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!

Dryer

Disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and dry a load unvented too make sure you don't have lint built up in the vent line causing an air flow restriction.

Mytag Dryer ModelLdg4000Aw

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
