Wouldn't start after we had a power outage. On Costco comments page on this unit, a person was able to fix his by replacing the fuse (with a Buss GMA 15A, 125 V which he said was hard to locate and hard to reach but no specifics to where it is located. DeLonghi has no tech help. A repair shop man said this unit has no fuse and to not believe what you read online, so bring it in. So, is there a fuse, what does it look like and where is it located? Many thanks for any help.

The repair man you talked to is correct. There is not replaceable fuse in your Delonghi model dehumidifier.

Is it possible to buy a portable dehumidifier which will automatically restart and function after a temporary power outage? What do you ask for?

Hello William, thank you for your post!
I understand that you would like to have a dehumidifier that restarts after a power outage. I have reviewed the available models for Frigidaire and show that feature is not available. You may want to speak with additional manufacturers for that feature. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Danby ddr5511r owner manual

Yess the DDR5511R has the drain hose connection inside the compartment where the water bucket sits. It is at the top right corner. You have to remove the water drawer to see it. At the right side of the unit (on the outside) is a small "door" that flips up so that you can feed a hose throught to the threaded outet inside. The drain hose is not supplied with this unit.

I'm testing my daughter's dehumidifier that blows her fuses. In my house, it does not blow my circuit breakers but does trip my GFCI outlets. What do I need to do?

Hi,
If you are blowing fuses and GFCI's your compressor is either not starting at all, is starting hard, or is at least grounding out momentarily...
at any rate the compressor is failing, and that is not economically replaceable..

Have a DDR583R with E-1 flashing blue, did not D-Humidify. Took unit to repair shop, 4 days later they called an said unit working fine, no repairs needed, cost 20.00. Came home, plugged unit in, works but...

If you're operating in area that where the ambient air temperature is between 40 & 60 degrees F. Like in a basement, where the air temp at floor level is cooler than at shoulder level, this could cause that reading. As dehumidifiers, unless they are Low temp models, will respond that way. Raising the unit up of the floor on to a sturdy table, counter top etc, that can handle the weight of the unit, plus a full bucket of water, will generally solve that problem.

If the unit, in all other facets is working as it should, do worry about it. If a sensor had gone bad and wasn't replaced, the unit wouldn't function at all. Also, keep in mind, that the repair shop's environment was different than yours.

Water draining onto floor not collecting in bucket. What could cause this?

First of all, here is the main ONLINE SUPPORT page for your model:

http://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/AD35USS.html

And here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://www.ajmadison.com/ajmadison/itemdocs/1188927.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

Well, the first obvious thing to check is whether your collection bucket has a hole or a crack in it which is allowing the condensate to leak out onto the floor.

The other possibility is that you are missing your DRAIN CONNECTOR COVER which blocks up the drain hose connection on the side of the unit. This hose connection is used when you want to run the unit continuously with a drain hose attached and don't want to have to empty the bucket all the time. There shoud be a small screw in plug to cover this drain connector when not in use. See page 7 of the manual for detailed instructions and illustrations.

If your collection bucket is just overfilling and spilling onto the floor and the unit just keeps on running anyway, then you have a problem with the float level shut off switch which needs adjusting or replacement.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

If you choose to rate this solution using the Thumbs Up scale provided, I thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Comfort-aire BHD-651 Dehumidifier broken after power outage

Start with the outlet they are plugged into - any power there?
The only solution I can suggest is to take it apart and check the wiring for any burned or shorted wires.
Also check the control circuit board - most have a small glass tube fuse on them. It is possible it was blown when the house was hit.

Royal sovereign DDH400C not working

Hi.
You haven't specified your location so I don't know what domestic power plugs look like in your neck of the woods. I'm in Scotland. If there is a replaceable fuse in the power plug I would check that, and any screws that secure the wire ends to the plug terminals.

There is a microswitch in there somewhere which is triggered by the bucket being correctly installed and not full. If that isn't happy then the machine probably wont run.

There's a couple of things to start with.
If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my guessing skills :-)
If they do not, please add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D

There is an internal fuse. Take off the outer plastic casing. The fuse is on the bottom of the board on the upper right of the unit. It's a 12 amp fuse. I had the same problem and found the fuse blown.

Does this dehumidifier auto restart after power interuption?

Hey dehumidiguy,

Have you considered an appropriately rated UPS unit for ridethrough ? American Power Conversion offers a sizing calculator on their website that will tell you the size UPS needed to provide ridethrough based on the load size and the amount of time you need it to continue operating.

Good luck,
