Please go through the following steps to identify and fix the problem you are experiencing:

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove the cartridges. Check the cartridge area for any foreign objects or debris blocking the cartridge carrier.
  3. Check behind the cartridge carrier for the encoder strip (transparent strip responsible for the movement of the carrier) and make sure it is seated and not loose in its place.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Unplug / re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Then close the printer cover.
  7. Check for any errors.
  8. If none, reinsert the other cartridge.
  9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to identify if it's a faulty cartridge issue.
  10. If cartridges are good and no error appears, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

It could be a cartridge, hardware or a software problem. Try to print a hardware test page on the printer. Hi, try to remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Then unplug the printer from power outlet. Plug power after 10-15 seconds. Reinsert the cartridges. Make sure they are the compatible cartridges for your printer and double-check for any foreign objects in the printer. This is just some basic troubleshooting steps but I hope this helps.

I have a Z705 printer that is printing very light. I replaced the ink cartridge and its still light.

Try Running the cleaning cycle this should help.
If not try a cleaning kit that is avable at Staples or Office Max type of store.

The BEST slution is GENUINE original cartridges. There is an eclectronic communicator on the cartridges and that "TELLS" the printer thet the current cartridges are not GENUINE ones. Untill you have replaced these cartridges with the GENUINE ones you will always get these error messages

Lexmark Z705 Printer Problem

The ink in the other is empty or if its refilled cartridge then ink is not filled correctly and cartridge cannot be used,if its new Lexmark cartridges get it replaced because the cartridges come e=with one year warranty.
