Philips Convergence for 55PP8620/79

Hi, You have answered a lot of Q's on TV convergence. My colours are all over the place as well so I guess I will need a convergence kit. Can you tell me the correct parts to get please. Also my tv has a 2.5 inch square box marked SANYO which has 6 tuning controls on it mounted in the centre of the frame above the circuit boards - is this normal? It is the only SANYO part in my Philips tv that I can see. The tv has been repaired before and I'm thinking they used a SANYO part instead of the Philips. I'm in Western Australia.

Yes the box marked sanyo is the focus and screen control box. All stk Convergence ICs for rear projection TVs are made by Sanyo, which was the origional producer of the STK series Convergence IC. You need the convergence repair kit for the DPTV series rear projection which consist of two STK392-120 ICs and 11 6.8 ohm 1watt metal film resistors. You can get the repair kit for your model at the following link , they do ship to Austrailia however they do have an international shipping charge which must be purchased for orders outside the north American continent,. They also probide free installations instructions with pictures and free tech support. Heres the link.

We no longer have the remote for model 55pp9401 and we have a convergence problem what can we do

Here's the Philips support URL for your TV:

PDF download of your Owners' manual:

Here's what Philips FAQ says about your convergence procedure:
Question How do I adjust convergence (align colors)? Answer Note: For best results, the Projection TV needs to be turned on for 15 minutes or longer before adjusting the picture tubes (convergence).

Press the INTELLISENSE button on the remote (under the flap). During the convergence process DO NOT press the INTELLISENSE button again and DO NOT move the Projection TV.

So, I think you're going to need to order a replacement remote.

Hi i have a Philips 4331 LCD projector its giving me double image which is not well colour mixed i have tryed to clean all the LCD pannel and all the lance but problem is still the same, if you have any...

If you are having "shadowing", this indicates a convergence problem in the LCD optical engine. Convergence is the correct alignment of all panels so there is no shadowing, or at worst limited to a one pixel shift. Some models can be adjusted, others cannot depending on the optical engine.

Philips Rear Projection Model 55PP8620 - convergence problem

Manufactures sometimes contract with other tv companies to build their tv. Regardless of the internal hardware you still have a philips tv. I beleive this set was made by Hitachi. And what you are looking for is a replacement board. This board is referred to as the small signal module. When contacting a rebuilt board, have the model# and the chassis# available. And contact PTSELECTRONICS.com or Andrews Electronics.com. The board you seek is in the rear lefthand side on the floor of the TV. You will see a pair of tall aluminum fins. Theses are the heatsinks for the convergence ICs. I would definitely replace this small signal module, as repair on the local level will require pulling the board in and out of the tv several times. The company will give a part number and then you may order this. Striving for success the first time!!!!

Convergence problem

Hi there!
You would need the manual to adjust the convergence. First to correct the curving and then to line up the colours. Not too sure wether you need a service remote or the one that came with the set. If no adjustment takes place when you adjust, replace the Convergence Amp IC'S. Good luck,JUS004

COLORS ON BOTTOM LEFT SIDE

You probably have a problem with your convergence board. Try resetting the convergence manually on your TV - go to Philips website for instructions on doing this if you have lost the Quick Start Guide. If the manual convergence fails, then your convergence board needs to repaired or replaced.

Colour

because you have defective convergence correction circuit amplifier! the only thing you can do now is to replace the convergence IC.
