After several successful uses in both auto and manual mode, my Bissell spot shot (pet) will only work in manual. The "hose" button is the only button that works and it works fine, but what happened to "hands free"?? This question has been asked by others here before, and the solution is to read the manual--- there is NOTHING in the manual that addresses this problem... My machine is only a couple of months old and was purchased on-line so returning it to dealer is not possible. Manual says to return it to Bissell.... anything I could try before I have to hassle with shipping it back? thanks

My Bissell Spotbot Pet cleaner stopped working. Took it out of the closet, plugged it in, No power? It worked great the last time it was used.

Well, if cycling it manually doesn't work and replacing the controller board didn't make a difference did you check the flex hose sensor? Bots won't run unless everything is clicked into place.

"Testimonials" don't continue the thread :)

I managed to dig up a copy of the service guide since I haven't owned a spotbot in years. http://evacuumstore.com/images/spotbot-repair-guide.pdf

There is a small magnet in the end of the hose. Under the phillips screw and plastic cover. Mine rusted to bits and stopped tripping the switch. A bit of a super strong hard drive magnet siliconed back in the end of the hose and all was fine.

I need an instruction manual or booklet

I could not find a model 12005 but I did find a 1200. You'll find several different manuals for Spot Bots at the link below. There should not be any significant differences among the Spot Bot models.

Sounds funny/shutting off after few minutes

Yup! Clogged hose on the back of the cannister! Unit is designed to shut off for 30 minutes when this happens to protect your motor. Remove top of hose where debris enters the cannister through a filter above it, then remove the other end of the hose from the bottom of the back of the cannister, take it outside and use something long that'll fit inside the hose to force out all the clogged debris and hair through the top of the hose.
