When the clean light is blinking it is saying that the tubes are blocked up with mineral deposits. If you waited until the light in blinking then it is going to take some time for a vinegar clean to work.
Just put vinegar where you normally put the water, and let it perk about 1/3 of the water through, and then shut it off for 30 minutes. Then restart and let it perk another 1/3 through. Let set for 30 minutes. Then let it complete the cycle.
Take a look at the output vinegar, if there is a lot of chunks in it, strain it using a coffee filter and then reuse the same vinegar and do it again. Keep repeating until the light is out and the vinegar no longer get the chunks.
I know this sounds like a pain but it takes a while to get that silly light to stop. If you have problems call the 1-800 number below. Decalcifying your MR. COFFEE® Coffeemaker Minerals (calcium/limestone) found in water will leave deposits in your coffeemaker and affect its performance. It's recommended that you regularly remove these deposits using MR. COFFEE® Cleaner or vinegar. MR. COFFEE® Cleaner is available at many retail stores or by calling the MR. COFFEE® Consumer Service Department at 1-800-MR COFFEE (1-800-672-6333). 1. Follow package instructions to prepare one batch of MR. COFFEE® Cleaner. Pour the mixture into the water reservoir. Before decalcifying, remove the water filtration disk from the machine. NOTE: 4 cups or 20 fl. oz. of undiluted, white household vinegar may be used as a substitute for the cleaner. 2. Place an empty MR. COFFEE® 10-12 cup basket-style paper filter or MR. COFFEE® permanent filter into the filter basket and slide the brew basket in place. 3. Place the empty decanter back in the unit. 4. Press the CLEAN button until the CLEAN indicator light turns on (Figure 9). For your convenience the cleaning cycle is automatic. The entire cycle will take 45-60 minutes to complete. During the cleaning your coffeemaker will: a. Slow brew approx. 3 cups of cleaning solution. b. Pause for 30 minutes (the CLEAN light will remain on to alert you that the process is active). c. After 30 minutes, your coffeemaker will brew the remainder of the cleaning solution. d. When complete, the CLEAN light will turn off and your coffeemaker will turn off. 5. Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the decanter thoroughly with clean water. 6. Fill the water reservoir with clean, fresh water. 7. Place the empty decanter back on the coffeemaker. 8. Remove and discard the paper filter used during the cleaning cycle. If a Mr. Coffee® permanent filter was used during cleaning, remove it and rinse it thoroughly before replacing it in the filter basket. 9. Begin brewing and allow the full brew cycle to complete. 10. Repeat steps 5 through 9 one more time.
I know that most grocery stores sell a "cleaner" or two next to their coffee filters/coffee makers/kitchen appliances section. These are usually heavily acidic, and will do a great job of cleaining your coffee maker. I've always been wary of acid in my coffee though, so I just use white vinegar. It'll do a decent job of cleaning out the coffee maker. Run a 1:1 mix of water and vinegar through your coffee maker, drain it, then run water through at least twice.
Scaleing/deposits building up in a coffee maker are signs of imperfections in the water. All tap water has it, but if you don't want to worry about it, use bottled or filtred water in your coffee pot. Plus, your coffee will taste better!
UNPLUG IT FIRST, SAFTY FIRST
LET IT COOL OFF,
EMPTY THE WATER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
THEN CLEAN WITH 409, OR MR CLEAN, OR WINDEX WITH
A LITTLE BIT OF VINEGAR ADDED ( ABOUT 3 ~ 4 TABLESPOONS )
TO HELP IN CUTTING THE GREASE
THEN BEFORE YOU PLUG IT IN, ADD SOME WATER TO THE TANK,
PLUG IT IN, RESET YOUR CLOCK { IF YOURS HAS A CLOCK }
AND ENJOY !! dd
I had a black and decker coffee pot do same thing and it was brand new. here is how I fixed it.
make sure the filter seated down good. If you look at the top of the coffee pot it should open up the little valve of the coffee filter holder. also mine had a little water spout above the coffee filter that swings over the filter. make sure it is over the filter. I know my coffee pot is different, but I think the problem is the opening from filter to coffee pot is not open some how so the water is flooding over the filter and going out the sides onto counter hope this helps
Hi, then it might be a factory fault problem, i will advise you to call in a electrician to come and witness it whenever you put it on so that he will be able to identify weather it is the microwave's fault or an electrical fault...
I couldn't find a replacement fuse for my Manning-Bowman coffee maker, so I repaired it. The fuse consists of three parts: the square end pieces and a rectangular connecting piece between them. (They all look like brass.) They're soldered together, and when the pot gets too hot (as it did when I plugged it in before adding water), the solder melts and the connecting piece drops out, shutting off the pot.
To repair the fuse, you'll need solder, a soldering iron, flux, and a small brush. You can get these supplies at a stained glass hobby shop. Leave the end pieces in place and put the connecting piece between them. Brush a little flux on the pieces, heat the solder and put a bead between the connecting piece and each end piece. Let cool and clean it.
