#1 PROBLEM: My freezer is making strange noises. ... Keep in mind, though, that not all freezers will make exactly the same sound when this ... If everything is working, then the noise is probably just the appliance going ... Frost forming around the freezer door's gaskets indicates the door was not fully closed. .... Sign me up ...

look in your onwers manuel and it should tell you what your temperature for the freezer should range from.if it was not giving to you when you bought the freezer then it should be behind the pannel down where the compresser is taped to the side.but as you know any thing below 32 degrees is freezing so 5 degrees is pretty cold.i dont under stand about the noise but if you think your freezer is not working right and if it is new then call place where you got it and tell them your concerns and then they should send a technician out
If you already have moved it wrong, you can sometimes get it working byplugging it in and unplugging it a number of times with an hour or so inbetween.
Hi, Most upright freezers that I know of have a lock on the door. If there is a tiny hole 1/4" or less in the front surface of the door that has a chrome ring around it, It is a lock mechanism. Look in the envelope that includes your instructions, there may be a key in it. It may have been locked for shipping. The other possibility is that there is a piece of some very strong fiber impregnated shipping tape strategically located so that it is difficult to see, keeping it closed. Hope this helps, Best Regards, Mark
just bought one that a repair man had already been through with similar issues. i wanted it as a fridge so this was no problem. took me about 5 minutes to figure out the reason it wasn't freezing though...the switch at the top that turns the light on when you open it also turns on the fan when you close the door. the door however sits just a tad too low to fully engage the switch. put a piece of tape over the switch and let it cool for 24 hours. chances are this will solve your problem!
Perhaps there's been some problems with the White Mountain machines since the company was bought out by Rival, the company that makes the cheap *** 30 dollar freezer machines. We have had great success using them to make lots of home mead ice cream and the last time I took the transmission apart, ours had a "dab" of grease in there. I cleaned everything out and used Mobile 1 red synthetic wheel bearing grease. Not filling it full of grease mind you, but using a q tip and making sure all moving parts had lube. As to why yours didn't have any on it, can't help you there unles it had been used so much that it was all gone, but a ne wmachine?; that's a problem. Their warranty dept will give you a new motor within the first 5 years of ownership if you can send them a copy of the recelipt and $10 for shipping. they don't even want the old motor unit back!!!
it might have low volatge to compressor and burned out overload try unplugging it again wait a few hours and plug it back in it might start working good luck if it doesnt try replacing relay overload compasator they sell a kit called a 3 n 1 start kit
