I have a KD-G300 and whenever a cd is inserted, it takes in the cd incrementally and takes about 5-8 "hops" before the cd is actually inserted. the display goes funky and cannot do anything with it until the power cables are disconnected. I am using http://www.sevenstar.com/220v-ac-dc-adapters.htm Model # SS-104 to test it. I have it set to AC/12V with the red and yellow wires inserted in the center and the black ground wire connected to the outer part of the plug. Seems ok inserting the disc while only the yellow cable is inserted. Not sure what to do

SOURCE: JVC car radio/cd player wont switch on

As a sanity check run a temporary wire directly from the battery positive to the radio. Twist the red and yellow wires together and connect it to the wire from the battery. If this works either your red or yellow wire connection under the dash or to the harness is not hot like you think. Yellow usually goes to a constant 12 volt source (to keep radio memory) and the red wire to 12volts when the ignition is on. In some radios this is reversed. The test I mentioned will determin if the problem is in the wiring or the radio.

SOURCE: JVC KD-R312 CD player keeps resetting itself

You are losing the permenant 12VDC on the Radio. This is the thick yellow wire from the radio loom, it has to be connected all the time to 12VDC.

SOURCE: Hi I have just installed my now JVC KD-R616 and

The orange light to the light control is usually for the face/display dimmer. When the headlights are on it tells the display to dim so as not to be too bright while driving. It can go to just about any interior light that is on when the headlights are switched on. Ashtray light is usually the easiest. As for the continuity on the constant/memory wire. It has to be constant with the key off as if connected directly to the battery. Turn the key off and check for a blank accessory location in the fuse box with a test light. If hooked to that, be sure to install an in line fuse in an accessible location. The black wire may very well be the memory wire from the original radio.
I hope I've helped. If so please rate my assistance and leave a testimonial.

KD-HDR40 will not play any CDs, only displays a "CD reading" message.

Sounds like CD mechanism failure. Did some sticker or anything went inside? Any way, need service.

My jvc kd-g300 head unit shorts out and comes back on when i turn it up louder than 20-25 esspecially if the bass is turned up

Could it possibly be a loose wire behind ur deck that connects itself when bass starts to hit? Just an idea of a possibility..otherwise check all possible fuses that could be responsible for the loss of power.

Here is a link to the manual: http://books.jvcservice.com/download/718134980/32506.pdf There does not appear to be a way to set tuning to european standards. Is there a particular reason you want to be able to tune those frequencies?

Setting the minutes is easy. Hit the SEL button for 2 seconds, and you can set the minutes by turning the knob.

Setting the hours is much harder. I don't know the official way, but I can offer a work-around.

To change the hours backwards (as in daylight savings time in the fall), wait until one minute before the hour (X:59). Then set the minutes to 00 (effectively going back 59 minutes). After a minute (or two), when you are now in the correct hour, set the minutes to the correct minute.

Changing the hours ahead (as in daylight savings time in the spring) is easier. Change the minutes to 59. Wait a minute (until the hour rolls over), and then adjust the minutes back to the proper time.
