As you've found from looking at the manual, the USB connector on the TV is only for installing software updates to the set. It's not a source input that you can send movies and music over, so the correct answer to your question is "you can't". At least not directly.
While you can't plug a USB device containing programs directly into the TV, you can use a computer as a program source. The TV has a VGA connector (Input 4) for video from the computer, and an audio input jack for connecting the computer's headphone output. So what you could do is plug your USB device into a laptop computer and connect the computer to the TV. The computer would be doing the actual playback of the programming on the USB device (using Windows Media Player, Winamp or your other player of choice), while the TV acts only as a display device. The manual explains how to select the computer input and adjust the TV resolution.
