Hello,

Put in new batteries and try again.

If new batteries did not solve the problem, the next thing to check would be the battery terminal.

If the battery terminal is rusty, the battery power won't contact and the calculator won't turn on. So, use a flat small screw drive to scratch the battery terminal so that there would be contact.

If the above is not the problem, the next to check would be the wire connecting the battery terminal to the the calculator's main board. There is a wire between the battery terminal and the calculator board. When the battery is inserted, the power from the battery goes from the terminal to the board through this wire. There is a possibility that this wire is cut in-between or is loosing contact. In this case, you need to get a small screw driver and carefully disassemble the calculator in order to check the wire.

If the wire is intact, use a light brush to brush the calculator board as there might be dust on the board.

If non of the above helps, then it means the calculator is dead and needs a replacement.

Regards.

How do i install the ti-84 operating system to the ti nspire

You do not. The TINspire with TI-84 keyboard works as a TI-84 Silver edition. Its OS is update when the TINspire OS is updated. The Ti 84 OS's you find on the TI website are not for the TINspire with TI84 keyboard.

I am own a Ti-nspire and trying to download the latest Ti-84 silver plus os however when it begins to transfer to my calculator it says transfer error what can i do to fix this?

The standalone version of the OS for the TI84Plus/TI84Plus SE are not for TI-Nspire with TI84 keyboard. The 94 Plus part of the TI-Nspire is updated when you update the OS of the TI-Nspire. The version numbers are different.
To update you TI84 portion of the TI-Nspire, update the OS for the TI-Nspire. Thy are now at Version 3.2.3.1233

I am going to be getting a tinspire and I was wondering how you switch from ti-nspire mode to the ti-84 mode?

I am going to assume that you are buying the non-cas version as the Cas or computer algebra version of the nspire doesn't support the ti-nspire mode.

The tinspire will come with two key-boards. One will be the nspire keyboard, the other the ti-84 board. To switch between them there is a small toggle on the back of the calculator. Push the switch and the keyboard will pop out. Put the ti-84 keyboard in and then press the on button!

Yes, the Ti nspire not only functions as a ti83 but, also operate w/ nice advance math software that any teacher would envey. It comes with the ti83 keypad plus software and great instructions to help the instructor at all levels of math learning. I don't know any better and it is a beautiful plan that ti has set up.
