Cobra 29lx Bluetooth max mod's available

Hey there! When it comes to the Cobra 29LX Bluetooth, there are a few mod options available to enhance its capabilities. However, it's important to note that modifying your radio may void any warranties or legal certifications it has. So proceed with caution and at your own risk.

Now, let's talk about adding a tune talk back voice to your Cobra 29LX Bluetooth. The tune talk back feature allows you to hear your own voice through the radio's speaker while you're transmitting. This can be handy for checking your audio quality or making adjustments to your voice modulation.

To install tune talk back, you'll need to follow a few steps. First, you'll need to open up your radio's casing and locate the talk back circuit. It's typically a small board with components related to the talk back function.

Next, you'll need to identify the audio input and output points on the circuit. These are the spots where you'll connect the necessary wires.

Once you've identified the right points, you'll need to solder a wire from the audio output of the radio's microphone circuit to the audio input of the talk back circuit. Make sure to be careful and precise with your soldering to avoid any damage.

After the connections are made, you can reassemble the radio and give it a test. You should now be able to hear your own voice through the speaker when you transmit over the radio.

Modifying your radio can be a bit complex, and it's crucial to have a good understanding of electronics and soldering techniques. If you're not confident in your skills, it's always a good idea to seek assistance from a professional or someone experienced in radio modifications.

I hope this explanation helps, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

I have a tk -250 and I can hear everyone talking but when I try to respond to them all it does is beep

Are you sure the people you hear talking are in the band limits of the radio. Generally, when they beep on transmit it's because you're trying to transmit out of band. If the stations you're hearing are near the band edge it's possible you have the "offset" wrong and when you hit the PTT, the shift (offset) in the wrong direction is taking the radio out of band.

I can hear people when they all me but they cant hear me how do i turn the mute off

The phone is not on mute, it has a bad mic. You would need to replace the mic in order for the other party to hear you.

Voice recognition on motorola t5500

That means that it will Transmit, like pressing the "Talk" button, BUT ONLY when it hears the "Voice" it was "Trained" on. So this is so No-one else could use this unit. With this method. You "Identify" yourself, and after that every-time you speak, the Transmitter is keyed, and the channel is opened and the voice sent, when you stop talking,it goes back to receive, again. Some are less sophisticated, in that they are really a "Sound Switch" and when the unit "Hears" a "Voice" it, switches OFF receive, and ON the transmitter, and Transmits the audio out.

When I Press the mic to talk, others hear me key down, but no sound is transmitted

Hello lummox30,

Check you mic first to see if it is indeed working. Then if it is the below advice is applicable.
It sounds as if your TX audio amplifiers might be malfunctioning or the TCXO might be bad. If you have a background in Electronics I would suggest that you open up the unit and using a dummy load on the antenna check the two TX audio amps to see if when you key the mic and speak into it the amplifiers are amplifying your voice and sending it to the modulator. If the problem is not amps or the filters in between the amps, the modulator and the VCO buffer are suspect. If the TCXO is being modulated I would check the PPL IC and the Drive amp to see if the modulated signal is getting through. The last two checks I would perform are on the final amp and the TX switch prior to the antenna jack.

If you do not have a background in electronics, still check your mic, but the rest of the above advice can be done by a qualified Radio Technician.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,
