What setting do I use for my scotts edgeguard DLX when using lesco professional starter fertilizer 18-24-12, item#016420

If the product you are planning to apply has a spreader setting for a Scotts SpeedyGreen, or specifially for the SpeedyGreen 3000; you can use that recommendation in your Scotts EdgeGuard DLX . If they do not have a suggested spreader setting for the SpeedyGreen or SpeedyGreen 3000, then this question would best be answered by calling Scotts directly at 1-800-543-8873. One of our associates would be happy to assist you further.

I have a Scotts Turf Builder EdgeGuard Mini, and I'm using Ace turf builder (crabgrass preventer with fertilizer). What setting should I use???

I was just told by Scott's phone customer service (800-543-8873) that their TurfBuilder EdgeGuard mini can use the same settings as their "SpeedyGreen" broadcast spreader, if your fertilizer lists that one.

We do have a general rule, called the 50 by 20 rule which will allow you to use any product in any spreader, but there is some work that will need to be done.

* Weigh out and Place enough material in the hopper to cover 1,000 sq. ft. (In your case 2.3 pounds)

* Place the spreader setting on a low setting (Usually one-fourth of the spreader setting range or less. In your case i would suggest about 2.75 or 3)

* Spread the material over a 50 x 20 ft. area (This is 1,000 sq. ft.).

* If material is left over, you will need to increase the setting accordingly

* If they you up short, you will need to decrease the setting.

How do i calibrate the scotts speedygreen 2000

Your SpeedyGreen 2000 Rotary Spreader spreader was calibrated at the factory. However, a spreader's calibration may change or slip during periods of frequent or heavy use.
You may check the calibration by using the following directions. First, adjust your micrometer setting to 2. Squeeze the trigger against the handle. The calibration line is a small, raised line embossed on the top of the spreader's shut-off plate. With the micrometer set at 2 and the trigger squeezed against the handle, the calibration line should be aligned with the back edge of the hopper opening.
To adjust the alignment, use a small wrench to turn the black calibration screw at the lower end of the control wire leading from the micrometer rate setting barrel. Adjust the screw until the calibration line and back edge of the hopper meet. If you have any difficulty checking the calibration, contact us and we will be happy to help walk you through the adjustment.
When you are not pulling on the trigger handle, the cable should be loose. When you pull on the handle, the cable becomes taut and the shutoff plate slides open.
If you have any additional questions feel free to contact Scotts directly @ 1-800-543-8873

I have a Scotts Speedy Green 2000 rotary spreader and want to know the proper setting for your Milky Spore 20 lb. bag (granular carrier). I have been keeping it about 50% open (Setting # 9 to 9.5) but it...

I have the same question, but have not found a direct answer. I have calculated an estimate setting of 4 or 5 for the speedygreen 2000. The Milky Spore is very simular to the fertilizer that I use. Milky spore says that 1lb covers a little over 300 square feet. My fertilizer says that at a setting of 4 it is spreading 2.6 lb per 1000 square feet (almost 3 lb per 1000 sq ft or 1 lb per 333 sq ft).
Now I may be totally off, but just bought the Milky Spore today and will apply tomorrow. I may look some more tonight to see if I can find an answer. I felt it was kind of bad that the back of the Milky Spore suggested only using a drop spreader!?

I have a Scott Rotary Fertilizer Spreader. When I load up the bucket and move the spreader, the fertilizer on the rotor does not spread because rotor does not move

If the wheels turn( that is you can push the spreader easily) but the vertical shaft that spins the broadcasting plate doesn't, seems like the gears connecting the axle to that vertical shaft are worn; but if the wheels just slide along the gropund without turning then it would seem something right under the bin is keeping the verical shaft from turning. But I'm NOT an expert; I'm looking for an answer myself,
