Well, first of all, did you fix the problem that caused the fuse to blow? Have you scanned you Antilock Brake System (ABS) module for fault codes? Since the computer is the one responsible for turning the light on, wouldn't you think that the computer would be the one to ask WHY it has turned the light on?

Abs light has come on saab93

THE ABS WARNING LIGHT HAS COME UP

It means there is an issue with the anti lock braking system (ABS). If the warning light has come up it is likely that the ABS is no longer functioning. It is still safe to drive the car and it will brake as normal but the anti lock safety feature will not operate.

You need to have it checked out for faults. The most likely cause is a failed ABS wheel speed sensor which needs to be replaced. There could alternatively be a problem with the ABS pump which is causing the warning.

There is one item you can check yourself. There is a dedicated fuse for the ABS pump/motor. Check the owner's manual and locate the fuse for the ABS motor and check that the fuse has not blown. If it has blown replace it with a fuse of the correct amperage and road test the car. (So if it is a 40 amp fuse for example, make sure a 40 amp fuse is used to replace it.)

Cheers

I have a 2000 VW Beetle. My ABS light has been on for a while and last night my brake light and battery light beeped a few times then kept blinking. They finally shut off then about a couple of hours later...

I suspect bad brake pedal position (BPP) switch. Check & replace if necessary the brake pedal position switch placed above pedals on the support.
The best idea is to access the ABS ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-Com, or similar) connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Code) memored. Then you will be able to replace bad piece(s) and fix the problem by erasing all DTC's stocked inside ABS ECU & reset it.
Good Luck!
