My zanussi washing machine wont start a cycle. at first i thought it was the pump because it wouldnt spin cycle, so i put a new pump in and the spin cycle worked. i tried putting an a half load then and it wouldnt start. it just makes a low humming sound.can you help. thanks

you have probably done no harm. try selecting spin and drain again to ensure the water has drained properly.
Machine starting on its own after 5 minutes or so is usually the door lock failing, again not caused by your actions.

replace the carbon motor brushes and retry if it wont spin usually the water isnt taken out fast enought to satisfy the vaccume switch so its the pump the switch or an air lock
so empty the machine totally and expell all water from all hozes and check the waiste is aok for flow no jams your left with either the pump motor issues bits of b.a wires or the main motor brushes

Machine spins but stops.. loading imbalance.. try with less load.. or drain pump and valve not working.. check for block..

if the pump seems to work, check outlet hose for blockage/check pump filter as well

faulty heater cicuit cold be a worn element.To test if heater circuit is faulty put machine on rinse cycle it should work OK

flashing red start/pause button, wont spin or drain

if its pumped all water out and wont spin sound like your motor brushes are worn.

check the drain hole when you start the machine if the water is coming back out , if yes that means your dump valve is bad.
