I have an Acer Aspire One ZG5. After a minor fall it won't charge anymore unless i push it in the jack with serious pressure. I know the charger isn't causing this as it is brand new and was charging perfectly before the fall. The jack doesn't seem to look damaged at all besides the slightly loose feeling it now has when i plug in my charger. What could this be and how can i fix it?

Ok i opened it up and saw exactly what you were talking about. I don't have access to a soldering iron although or know anyone with one as of now so i thought i would temporarily hold it together with eletrical tape. It seems to fix it except now it will only charge for a second and stop charging. When i plug it in it lights up for a sec then stops. Anything i can do from here?

The power jack has a crack solder connection on the motherboard, the only way to fix this you must take the laptop apart in order to address the issue, this task requires someone with high specialty skills to pull it off and be able to use a soldering iron to fix the problem.

The only option is resoldering the the area's affected to insure proper operation. Unfortunately there is no other way to resolve this except a service shop that deals in computer repair.

MY ACER ASPIRE ONE 721-3070 WON'T POWER ON

It is the charger or the DC jack in the laptop, have the adapter tested or sub another power supply if possible.

My Acer Aspire 7551 headphone jack is broken

You just answered your own question. Same here, my jack only plays one channel (or vocals as you said), but when I push down on it or twist the male end of the headphone as it's plugged in, I can rig it. It's just shorted man, you need a new one. My issue happened when my friend tripped over the cord, while plugged into desktop speakers and it jerked it out. I am just having a serious issue finding any to order online so my local PC Repair shop can put it in.

When i remove the charger from my pc(acer aspire one zg5) the notebook just shut down, i was told that the battery is deadand must be replaced, so i want to ask if there is any way i can fix it again...

the problem you have can be one of two. 1 the battery is dead and needs replacing to use it without the charger plugged in 2 the charging circuit in your laptop has failed and will not charge the battery As the laptop works when plugged in then I would guess it's the battery. If the battery is dead, the only way you can repair it is to open the battery case and replace the individual cells which can be dangerous if you don't know how to handle the cells properly. I would recommend buying a new battery before trying to repair it if you really need one.

I have an Acer Aspire One and when I plug the charger in I have to spin it or wiggle it or both to get the battery to charge. Once I have it in position it generally stays on charge, but if the cable is...

It could be either one Sarah.

The AC adapter's (Charger) cable, or the DC Power Jack where the AC adapter plugs into the laptop.

This is an example of the DC Power Jack not installed,

http://www.laptopjacks.com/view_part/Acer-Aspire-ONE-AOA150-ZG5-DC-Power-Jack-AC351816.html

(You can click on the three views of the jack to enlarge)

1) Check the DC Power Jack to see if it's in good repair.

Battery removed use a small flat tipped screwdriver, and Gently see if you can move the Center Pin around in the jack.
See if the Center Pin will move side to side a small amount. There is supposed to be No perceptible movement.

Referring back to the closeup photos of the DC Power Jack, the flat blade-like prongs are upside down, in relation to how the jack sits on the motherboard.

The flat prongs go down through the motherboard, and are soldered to the motherboard.
If the center pin of the jack is stationary, but the jack as a unit moves around, one or more solder joints, (Connections) for the flat prongs may be cracked.

The repair consists of completely disassembling the laptop, removing the broken DC Power Jack, and installing a new one.

Acer Aspire One service manual,

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acer

(Click on the blue - One - in Aspire One.
This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it which uses PDF files.
After you click on the file name (One) it may take up to 30 seconds before you see the first page.
It may also take additional time for the file to fully download.

(Took 12 seconds just now for full download)

No perceptible movement of the DC Power Jack? Suspect the cable of the AC adapter right near it's plug. (Plug that plugs into the DC Power Jack)

My Acer Aspire ZG5 will not charge. I have BIOS 3310, brand new charger and a brand new battery, what's going on here?

Do you have a voltmeter that you can test the new charger with to make sure you are getting voltage to the tip? If there is power to the tip most likely you have a bad d/c jack, the part on the laptop that the charger plugs into. Often if the d/c jack it will be loose and you can very by taking a pen and gently moving the jack left and right. A local computer repair shop should be able to replace the d/c jack or you could do it your self. So are simple plugging the jack into the motherboard others your would have to solder in place. If yours is the latter then I would definitely take it to a repair shop. Also you can buy the d/c jacks on ebay using you model number.

Acer aspire one can't charge unless push it very hard. The charging hole got very deep, what to do?

well if i'm correct the issue is like the dc jack where you connect the adapter cable to charge the pc is damaged , so in that case you have to replace with the new jack and it might cost around 100 Rs in india but in dollars that is 2$ or more because i don't know about price over there.

Good Luck.

How to fit a new power jack (charger) in a acer aspire one zg5 just will not charge the charger is ok as is the battery both tested on another computer so i think it is the jack regards terry

The first thing I suggest is to plug in your laptop then pull the cord under your laptop tug it towards you if you are able to obtain a connection use your laptop2.gif to hold the cord. Thats what I am doing now
If that does not work find the spot where you can connect ( by tugging cord back and forth or up and down) and hold the connection with tape or a clamp.

Acer aspire one model zg5 battery won't charge

I have exactly the same problem and am searching at the same time as you. I think you are wrong. I think the 150 is for the larger screen model. I think we need the 110.

I think it's this one that i found at acer-euro

ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/netbook/aspire_one_110/bios/v.3309.zip

but I'm afraid to use it (which is not to say I know how). Somthing about putting it onto a USB drive and running scripts. At least that's what they do with this problem on a 150
