It is your oven, you can do with anything you choose. I would leave the door closed as per the instructions. However you decide. I doubt that is a typo. You can leave it open and see how hot your kitchen gets, or leave it closed and contain the heat.

The front door right side there is a lever found when it is opened the lever should close the micro switch inside and the door is locked with another short lock (near the long lever). If door lock broken then the micro switch push the lever and door not closed.

1)Make sure there is a clearance all round the machine so that there is a good airflow. The sensor is picking up a lack of circulation or heat factor.
2) Chdeck the door switch, it may well not be closing correctly. when the door is closed and prior to hitting start,\; pull the door gently to see how much movement or play is in it. The door should be tight and have almost zero movement. Look at t both sides of the door lock to ensure no debris is preventing it from closing correctly, and the latch itselof is not broken!
When you shut the door , do it very firmly until you can hear the latch click, if it still will not start, then you could have a faulty door lock or a communication problem between boards.

When you say new door clip fitted, I assume you mean door handle, if this is the case then it could be you have not got it back together properly, if you have, then it could faulty door interlock
the belt is broken for the carocel (the disc can not change) it is plobabely stuck b/tween discs therefore it keeps opening and closing saying error . eventually it turns off.
can be fixed with a small elastic goody hair tie w/o metal clasp
