Hi i got an Australian nokia 6300 and i live in New Zealand and when i put my NZ sim card in is says enter restriction code, what does that mean?
I have a UK 6300 and having tried a different sim have the same problem. I rang vodafone (our service provider) and they gave me the unlock code. Apparently it is specific to each phone so you can't use a generic code. I am trying a turbo sim as I would love an iphone and the 6300 is the only sim locked phone we have to prove the method works. Unfortunately the turbo sim I have doesn't, even the replacement. If you know who the original service provider is (sometimes comes up on boot) it is worth giving them a call.
1 - Switch on your Nokia 6300 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia 6300.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#.
4 - The Nokia 6300 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!
Note :For Nokia 6300 mobile phones locked to the network Fido or Rogers in Canada follow these instructions :
1 - Switch on your Nokia 6300 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia 6300.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+7#.
4 - The Nokia 6300 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!
The letter p appears if you press the button star(*) three times quickly
The letter w appears if you press the button star(*) four times quickly
The symbol + appears if you press the button star(*) two times quickly
The CODE you need to enter is the unique unlock code for your Nokia 6300
