Width problem Samsung 17" Monitor. The problem is insufficient width and convergence problem. The user control while trying to increase the width is not working. Neither is the Horizontal position control. The transistor Q420 was found to be short. It was replaced. But the problem still persists. For convergence problem what should be done

To have unlock your control (auto-adjust ...) you have to hold down the "menu Key" for about an 10 seconds. This will unlock your monitor! [email protected]

Select reset option by monitor menu, set it to default first. Then try to adjust the width and height of the screen. If this does not help you, try other resolutions set by the system.

Samsung sync master 753s crt monitor widh very low, EHT driver transister volt 78 .please tel the answer?

first of all check weather the width is getting varied from the front panel menu. if there is a vary in width but not full, then need to vary in factory level settings with the help of JIG software provided by Sansung with KIT. The KIT is connected between the CPU and the Monitor.

IF there is no change in width with the front menu, then chage the high voltage PF capacitors at Width section and EHT section(near output transistor (near LOT)).

Monitor problem

Hi,

Appreciate the "Ask Me".

I am assuming that you have more than just familiarity with electronic components and circuitry, the use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Further, that you have access to a service manual.

Width problem is basically insufficient horizontal deflection, then analysis would have to be in the horizontal section. Areas to initially focus on:
  1. 12V line and pin 29 of IC401;
  2. 110 V peak to peak at collector of Q403, if yes check Q 402 & 404 as well as T401;
  3. other components that affect the horizontal size are:
  • IC201
  • Q 405, 406, 407 & 408;
  • D409
  • L401
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
